I don't normally write reviews unless the book is good. And this one is. The descriptions from dialog and narrative give the reader such a vivid mental image of what is transpiring that you feel as if you are watching a movie in your mind. The plot about Madison escaping Rick and starting over in Virginia might lead a potential reader to think of this book as a 'chick flick' type read. On the contrary. I read the back cover and jumped right in. This is a must read that will be hard to put down. Plan on saying - 'just one more chapter'.

This is a story of transformation and growth. Madison Ragnar's decision to leave an abusive relationship and take a job as a high school English teacher in another state is the first step on her journey to a new life. Madison is soon presented with challenges and tragedy as she struggles to learn to trust and love again.

As her journey unfolded, I felt like I was sharing in a best friend's path. The fluid writing style and the story's twists kept me captivated until the very end. I loved this book!

This is the first of Heather Hummel's works that I have read. It is captivating and intriguing. Once I started reading this book it was very difficult to put down. The characters are very real and you can walk in their shoes! Great Book!
