Good Covers, Good Compilation,

If you like The Monkees and you like indie pop, then you'll like this comp. The bounciness of The Monkees' original songs are morphed into more recent pop sensibilities. The goofy music (I'm A Believer, Last Train to Clarksville) is still goofy, but the more serious stuff is here, and updated (and surprisingly relevant). Shades of Gray by Mind Veneration is a classic, and Pleasant Valley Sunday by Marykate O'Neill is great. This would also be a good intro to a great period of indie pop. Enjoy!
