5.0 out of 5 stars Loved It!
This is one of my favorite Delinsky books, without a doubt. In fact, it's also one of my favorite romance novels ever. No, it's not Gone With the Wind, but how many romance books are? I just liked the characters and their story and found them both very sexy and romantic. And for those who like steamy, sensuous love scenes, there is a multi-paged one in this book that...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed in content and story line.
I was disappointed in this novel because I thought it was one of Delinsky's newer novels - some romance but a plot that is believable and makes you think and hopefully grow. Instead it was one of her older ones - what I think of as typical 70's romance trash. My mistake.

This is one of my favorite Delinsky books, without a doubt. In fact, it's also one of my favorite romance novels ever. No, it's not Gone With the Wind, but how many romance books are? I just liked the characters and their story and found them both very sexy and romantic. And for those who like steamy, sensuous love scenes, there is a multi-paged one in this book that goes on and on and is quite memorable. Yes, those readers who came to like Delinsky when she started writing her hardcover contemporary novels for women may be disappointed because she's writing different types of stories today. But for those who have liked some of the early stuff by Delinsky, you'll probably like th is. In any case, it's a perfectly good read for a weekend afternoon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delinsky Does it Again!, February 3, 2003
I am a very big fan of Barbara Delinsky, probably because her stories are in my New England area. This one is very special, and though I can usually see the ending coming, I could not with this one! For any fan, this is great, and if you have never read her novels, watch out-you may become addicted! Happy reading!

4.0 out of 5 stars Through My Eyes, April 13, 2005

A great book all round - though not perfect. The passion of Jill & Peter is palpable in several scenes - it just sizzles of the pages! I love the "realism" of the writing style (i.e not your typical M&B romance with a rich, slick guy making stumbling mistakes, hurting the female protaganist) though the alleged crime was a bit dramatic. I thought the ending of her best friend's trial could have been described more as it was the reason why Jill & Peter met and perhaps there should be a bit more depth to the story. Despite that, this story could be listed as one of my favourites. For those, who have not read it and want to know more...

After her husband died six years ago, Jill Moncrieff is settled in a quiet life in a small Maine town. She turned her back on her rich background, sees her high-profile family minimally and has pursued her dream as an artist (potter). However, her best friend, Cooper is in legal trouble as he is falsely accused of a crime and she seeks the legal advice of the best criminal lawyer known in New York, Peter Hathaway. She knows she needs his expertise, yet is reluctant to acknowledge the strong attraction between them. She has remained loyal to her late husband and her quiet, country life since his passing. However, Peter Hathaway surprises her as he is not the typical city slicker, coming from a rough and tough childhood. The two of them work on helping Cooper while they battle out their attraction. Jill takes the time to "re-evaluate" her life, to move on.

1.0 out of 5 stars Reader of Delinsky, April 28, 2000

This review is from: Through My Eyes (Paperback)
This is one of the worst books I have ever read. The character is shallow and codependent. This story reads as if written by a 14 year old. Save your time and money for one of this author's newer books!
