This book contains three brief inspirational texts for each day of the year;the first text for each day is a brief New Testatment excerpt, and the second and third texts are brief excerpts from the writings of St Therese. The texts by St Therese follow the theme presented by each day's New Testament text. The year's chronological flow of the book follows the Church's basic calendar: octaves of Christmas and Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Ordinary Time, and Solemn Feast/Holy Days.My wife ordered this book, and I personally did not expect a great deal from it (I had read St Therese's Memoirs years ago). Since the book was readily available at our family prayer table, and since each day's readings were quite brief, I began reading the book on a daily basis. I have found it to be a rich source of prayer and spiritual growth and recommend it to all serious Christians. |
