5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Introduction to Nelson, January 30, 2004
By
This review is from: Through the Years (Audio CD)
This was the first Nelson Eddy CD I owned, and I really listened to it quite exclusively (and continually) for several weeks, (until I started adding other Nelson CDs to my collection!)

Nelson's version of "Sweet Mystery of Life", with a violin and chorus and a harp or two in the background, is very lovely. A few of my other favourites are "Trees", "When I Grow Too Old to Dream", "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning", and "Wanting You", although really they are all wonderful. Most of them are slower songs, very restful, although "Ride, Cossack, Ride", "Tokay", and "Stouthearted Men" are on the more stirring side.

I recommend this CD along with "The Old Refrain". If you have not yet discovered the treasure that is Nelson Eddy's voice, you are missing out on one of life's most beautiful gifts.

3.0 out of 5 stars One of the best!, February 21, 2006
This review is from: Through the Years (Audio CD)
One of the best because there are several titles that have not been used in other publications. It's too bad USA publishers do not consider Nelson Eddy important enough to publish and we have to go to imports! But the imports are great!!

5.0 out of 5 stars THE WONDERFUL MUSIC OF NELSON EDDY, August 13, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Through the Years (Audio CD)
A COMPLATION OF THE FINEST SONGS SANG BY THE WONDERFUL NESLON EDDY. INCLUDING HIS FAMOUS "STOUTHEARTED MEN". THESE ARE SONGS HE DID WITHOUT HIS MUSICAL PARTNER JEANETTE MACDONALD.
