Product Description

Through an Ethereal Lens is a collection of seven erotic science fiction stories that explore encounters with aliens, perverted technology, and monstrous creations.

In these pages, you'll read about a group of stellar bounty hunters who find a brand new breed of sex offender; a woman suspended above a man-thing in a mad experiment; a visit to the aquarium's special exhibit that becomes a wholly different experience; a bound and helpless woman who dreads to know what horror will emerge from behind the curtain; a nightmare that begins with the words: "We're going to need to run some tests"; a first sexual encounter under distressing circumstances in an altered point of view; and a woman who wants to buy an alien sex-pet but who gets more than she bargained for.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good But Could Have Been Better, January 10, 2011

This review is from: Through an Ethereal Lens (Kindle Edition)
This book consists of seven short stories involving (for the most part) explicit sexual encounters between humans and various alien beings. The author's writing skills are excellent, on par with many mainstream writers and far better than what one usually encounters in the erotic genre. He balances plot and sexual action well. That being said, the quality here is somewhat uneven. The first and longest piece, "First Haph," is by far the highlight of the book and probably worth the purchase price by itself if you like this particular erotic subgenre. Both the human/alien and human/human sex scenes are sizzling and memorable. Although the story is self-contained, the author states that it was conceived as the first part of a longer work; here's hoping he finds the time to finish it. The other six pieces are something of a letdown. In a couple of cases ("POV," "Dehra") the author seems to have a good idea but seems unwilling or unable to exploit it to its full potential. In others ("Squatch," "Tentacle") the narrative ends abruptly, leaving too many unanswered questions. This is not to say they're bad stories, but merely not what they could've been. There's only one real dud in the book, "From the Blue World," a tale of a human/amphibian coupling that was just too awkward in its execution to be arousing. In sum I would say that I liked this book, and especially "First Haph," enough to recommend it to others and to purchase some of the author's other works.
