I Have Decided..., June 5, 2010
This review is from: I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris Pt. 2 (Audio CD)
I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris is a great release, definitely worth buying at least one copy of. The single is beautiful, the b-sides are excellent, and the artwork is gorgeous.
To the reviewer above (hopefully below in the near future) - Nobody is forcing you to buy this release at all, let alone more than one copy of it. If, based on principle or thriftiness, you do not wish to buy more than one version of the same single; buy one and download the other b-sides. I've done it in the past, though I purchased six copies of this single. Two of each CD release, and two vinyls. They make great gifts. The vinyl is worth it for the larger artwork alone. And the inner-sleeve - wow! He's a stunner.
Anywho, if you're going to purchase one copy of this CD, you have a choice between two very different b-sides.
Because Of My Poor Education is a dreamy, piano-led song. It is beautiful and melodic.
Shame Is The Name is more of a rock song, with distorted guitars, punchy bass, catchy drums, and exciting piano lines. Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders) sings harmonies, and does a terrific job. All of the vocals are very powerful.
Both songs are excellent! It's just a matter of preference. This CD should have a five-star rating; it's a bit distressing that it is only at three right now.

UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM,Where's the rest?, May 21, 2009
This review is from: I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris Pt. 2 (Audio CD)
Why does Morrissey always feel the need to pull this crap. He puts out a single in ten different versions, each with a different b-side. Fans end up paying $40.00 for four songs. The b-side was really good but it's just not worth the money, when you know there are 3 or 4 more floating around, all costing 8 bucks a pop.Wait for the collection, when he'll put all the b-sides together he's already ripped you for with two new songs,so you have to buy them all again! Death at One's Elbow indeed!
