5.0 out of 5 stars Lucky Boy that I Listened
oh man, i've had this cd for about 2 years since i accidentally saw LBC in concert. i hadn't listened to the CD for about a year til i put it in my car this morning. i can't believe i went that long without hearing these guys jam. the sound is powerful and forces you to dance, the lyrics are deep and ask you to sing along. Everything about this cd makes me think about...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but not too good
I have been a fan of LBC for a long time. I knew of them before their big break with a major record label. I own all of their cd's and singles which are all very good. I bought this one hoping for even better music. Although it was kinda good, the cd is just a HUGE dissapointment to TRUE LBC fans. The cd is just full of too many re-recorded songs from previous albums and...

Everything about this cd makes me think about my life and how we're all the same and different at once. it's impossible to try and tell you, but they've got something like a year 2000s bob dylan poet with a sound that sings just as strong! buy now!

i got this cd like 4 years ago and i LOVE it. i listen to it all the time and its just awesome. even though it is one of their older cds, i would recomend that everyone buy it because it has so many different feels to it. you listen to one song to pump you up and another to ease your pain. there is something for everyone on this cd. and a major plus is that stubhy has an awesome voice. so what are you all waiting for? go out and get it..
ps. also buy commitment (the newest one) and growing out of it. they both rock my socks too!!!

This is the best LBC album, period. It reflects all of their styles... Right down to a real rock song.. [ One to the right] Anyone could find at least one song on this album that they love, if not all. When I got this album almost 3 years ago.. it was amazing, today it is still amazing.. Its a fun time.. Rap, Pop, Ska.. They cant be compared to another band and this CD proves it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Drinking CD ever, December 10, 2002
This review is from: Throwing The Game (Audio CD)
Every time me and my friends get together to party on the weekend after a long week of homework and regular work, this cd pumps us up to do anything. Most of my friends dont like punk music til they have heard this cd. Pretty soon they've given up rap songs about fortys and now they listen to LBC sing about drinking a keg of killians. You might say LBC is a lot like marijuana, LBC is the gateway drug to punk (pop punk at least). All in all ive drank a lot more killians since i heard this cd.

4.0 out of 5 stars WOW!, November 15, 2001

I should preface this review by saying that I have been a fan for about a year and a half, so I had already heard much of this material on the other indie releases and in concert (if you have a chance - SEE THEM LIVE!!!) so I had been accustomed to most of these songs before I heard them here. This is one of the few bright spots in a year of pretty lame releases. If I were not from the Chicago area, and are only now hearing Bossman or Fred Astaire on the radio, I would absolutely give this five plus stars!
The energy on this eclectic mix of ska/reggae/punk/rock is so amazing. While most of the punk scene is too busy trying to sound like Blink, or whatever punk band happens to be cool today, these guys are influenced by a wide variety of styles - and it shows. Rather than have thier obviously eclectic musical tastes get too carried away, they ballance them perfectly by not invoking too many styles in each of thier songs. This album changes from song to song, which helps keep it fresh upon every listen (I bought it on the release date, and still listen to it frequently).
The standouts on this would be: Fred Asstaire, Bossman, Child's Play (a middle finger to the world of corporate labels - which they sang right after announcing thier deal at one of the shows... ha,ha,ha), Not About Debra, City Lights, One To the Right, and Slip. The only lowpoint would be the bonus at the end of the disc. It sounded out of place, somehow - which is hard to do on a disc this eclectic.
I have shared this with friends that are into all kinds of music - rap, punk, rock, folk - and always the same response - THESE GUYS ROCK!
