3.0 out of 5 stars It's good but didn't quite measure up to their first
Thrown to the Wolves is ok but I find myself getting bored trying to listen to the whole cd quite a number of times.

So after being bored from the cd, I just switch to their self-titled first cd and that's when it really rocks. Their 2nd album doesn't by far measure up to the first.

These guys rule! Their music is a mix between rock and alternative. It is possible that this is the best album i've ever listened to!

They have this quality to put you in good mood, even if you've been in a ... mood all day. This is a must have for all real music lovers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hasn't left my CD player in 3 days!, November 14, 2002
This review is from: Thrown to the Wolves (Audio CD)
What a great album! Every track is a work of genius, and the songs are superb! Best known to fans of the hit show Buffy the Vampire Slayer as "Dingoes Ate My Babies", the headline band for most of the first three seasons, Four Star Mary are an accomplished band in their own right.

Over half the songs on the album appeared in the show, and for good reason.

Best track? It's incredibly hard to choose, but probably "Thrown to the Wolves", with half a dozen others close behind.

If you're a Buffy fan, or an alternative rock fan, buy this album!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great CD to Buy, May 12, 2003

I had discover Four Star Mary in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as Oz band Dingoes Ate My Baby, the song who "tell me" to listen more of this band was Never Mind on the episode Dead Man Party. I bought the cd Thrown to the Wolves, and EVERY song is great. But my favorites are Never Mind of course and Violent. It's a must have for every alternative rock fan

5.0 out of 5 stars UPBEAT ALTERNATIVE EXCELLENCE, March 14, 2001
This review is from: Thrown to the Wolves (Audio CD)
This album is awesome! And the more you listen, the better it gets.

It starts off strong with the excellent "Dilate," and never weakens through all eight tracks. My personal favorite is "She Knows," but there isn't a bad song on the CD.

Right now FSM is best-known for their appearances on "Buffy." The day is coming, though, when they are known for selling a lot of albums and rocking packed-house stadiums. Grab this album now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Thrown to the Wolves, March 11, 2000

This cd is great. At first I thought the songs weren't as good as on the first EP, but after I listened to it for a while it grew on me. It's one of those cds that might not have songs that stick in your head for a long time, but where it's just really good overall. It's terrific alternative rock and at the same time some of the songs are great for parties or if you want to dance, like "Violent." "Dilate," "Nevermind," and "Say It" are all great upbeat tracks (particularly the first) and "She Knows" is just excellent. "Thrown to the Wolves" is a ncie change from the stuff you normally hear, but gets a bit boring in my opinion. "Dark Sky" and especially "Run" have incredible guitar parts. If you like upbeat alternative rock this is the cd for you. Check out the website online for details about this much-underrated band.
