great book, December 14, 2007
This review is from: Thrums (Paperback)
Enjoyable, readable; full of ancedotes, hints, tips and humor, history
of the modern weaving "movement" since the 50s or so. Great for someone
who weaves, but doesn't have much experience. No pictures to speak of,
not inspiring in that sense, no projects, weaving instructions, no
patterns or setts; but lots of bits of useful information and the
different ways problems have been solved, all mixed with personal stories
and. There are several long sections on dying that I didn't read
(already have the information), which may or may not be useful or dated.
I wouldn't say it's a must-own, but as a new weaver it's certainly worth
reading and probably reading again in a year or two.
