5.0 out of 5 stars Thug Lovin' still going strong!
This was a four star book, but Wahida Clark is my girl and can write her behind off so she gets the other star just for that alone. First of all I love Trae and Tasha, but Tasha really got on my nerve this time. Trae could have communicated a lot better and made things easier for him. The stories were all over the place. Sabeerah's part in the book was really not...

1.0 out of 5 stars What a disappointment!!!
First, let me say that I have been a "die hard" Wahida fan. I have read all of her books. However, "this &*#@) RIGHT HERE " was unbelievable (and not in a good way)! We fell in love with Trae, Tasha, Kaylin, Angel and the rest of the crew in books 1 - 3. Those characters are not recognizable in Thug Lovin' (book 4). I feel as though I have been lied to. At the end of Thug Lovin, I hated Trae, was disappointed in Tasha, disgusted by Marvin and saddened by Kyra. I can appreciate the need to "mix it up". But, this was a GRIMY tale. Trae's behavior was inconceivable. The fact that he cheated on Tasha was the LEAST of his foul behavior. What he did to Tasha at the end of the book is what we tell our daughters, sisters, girlfriends, etc to NEVER accept. It was inconceivable, unnecessary and not consistent with Trae's character. Why take such a loved character and have him beat his wife to the point where he doesn't know how she got on the floor? Are you kidding me? What is that and what was the point of reducing him (them) to that level? Don't devoted readers of the series deserve better than that? How is that possibly 5 stars? Furthermore, the Tasha that we know would NEVER accept that behavior from him. The real shame is that there are so few TRUE showcases of Black Love. The magic of books 1-3 is the message that our powerful connections do exist (contrary to what the media would say) and that they are to be celebrated. What Trae did to Tasha at the end of the book cheapened him and the story told about him and Tasha in books 2 and 3. It went far beyond "shock value". How can he possibly be redeemed? What's next? Does Kaylin shoot Angel? Is Faheem a cross-dresser? Does Jaz develop a crack addiction? We waited a year for THIS? I feel cheated.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing, August 7, 2009
This review is from: Thug Lovin' (Thug 4) (Paperback)
I was very disappointed in this book. Out of all the couples Tasha and Trae were my favorite. I could not wait for this book to come out to see what drama was going to unfold, however after reading it I found myself wishing I never bought the book. To take a couple and destroy their love and respect for each other as Wahilda has done was just plain wrong. I do not know if I will purchase the next book in this series, this one was such a let down for me.

Christine.

First of all I love Trae and Tasha, but Tasha really got on my nerve this time. Trae could have communicated a lot better and made things easier for him. The stories were all over the place. Sabeerah's part in the book was really not necessary, because nothing came of it and it was just crazy. Detective Rick's character was not developed and he could have been a really good character, but it went nowhere.Tasha's character was really done wrong in this book. I hope Ms. Clark comes back and redeems her in the next book, because that was not the girl I know and love. I can't wait for the next Thug book, Thug fan for life!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars FINALLY!!!, August 11, 2009
This review is from: Thug Lovin' (Thug 4) (Paperback)
Ugh..where do I begin? I absolutely LOVE 'Thug Lovin'!! Alot of the other reviews talk about how Trae's character changed but I personally believe Tasha changed the most! I absolutely loved her in Every Thug Needs A Lady & Thug Matrimony but In Thug Lovin Tasha seemed like a classless whore who was too distracted by having sex then fixing her martial problems. As many bad decisions as Trae made I still loved his character..he almost lost me for a minute b/c the whole domestic abuse thing it was a bit excessive and unexpected. I wish Angel & Kaylin had a bigger role in this book. Maybe some of the mistakes between Trae & Tasha wouldn't have been made if they had Kay & Angel to talk them down. There were alot of ups and downs in this book but overrall I loved it!! Im impatiently waiting for the next installment. Hopefully Tasha isn't pregnant & if so hopefully its not by her new lover! I dont know maybe its the hopeless romantic in me but I want Trae & Tasha to work!!! Keep up the good work Ms Clark!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Too Good, August 5, 2009

This review is from: Thug Lovin' (Thug 4) (Paperback)
I waited a long time for the fourth sequel book to come out from her Thug loving sequels. The first three books were all great but this book had so many twists and turns and each couple had their fair share of problems. I am a little disappointed that Trae and Tasha is left in a crazy situation without knowing the outcome but I'm looking forward to the 5th book. Pleas don't keep me waiting for long Wahida girl.

Hands Down this book is worth every penny you spend on it, so instead of just reading this you should be out buying the book. The book is so good, it'll have you talking out loud as if you're talking to the characters yourself especially the end chapters, but enough said, go get the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars 'Wahida put the Junkyard Dogg THUMP on this joint...', August 20, 2009

Trae and Tasha are still laying it down in the bedroom, the hallway, the doorway, the club, wherever he wants it, she's got it for him. Pleasing her man is no obstacle for Trae's Tash. Three babies, a coastal move, now free of the game, this power couple is preparing to open Club New York and partner with Marvin and Tasha's cousin, new to the set, Stephon. Club New York awakens some inner demons, and darker sides of our favorite characters and their relationships. Kaylin's older brother, Kyron, has just been released from prison and proves to be an interesting mixture to the equation. Attorney Charli Baltimore, daughter of Don Charlie Baltimore has more than legal business on her mind as she openly embarks on getting a taste of a true thug. Undercover police Rick infiltrates the clique and adds a hint of suspense to this eventful read as well.

Thug Lovin' is a spectacular story with mind altering dramatic scenes that hypnotize the readers with the visualistic plots. Wahida Clark has mos def penned a sensational novel that is destined to be a classic tale. Character development is exemplary, I found myself so caught up in this storyline that I had to put it down for a minute to catch my breath, the emotions are so visibly tangible. Although, I must admit the changes in our beloved characters prove to be challenging, but the delivery is exemplary. I received a galley in which my ending varied from the rest and I was speechless. Awesome, amazing, magnificent, extraordinary, are adjectives that come to MY mind when I think of Thug Lovin'. In being a Thug-Thug fan since 2005, I can truly say that I see an enormous amount of growth in this author while she still remains true to her thuggish addiction that thrills the reader. Usually, I don't give sequels 5 ***** no matter how good, but reflecting on the unpredictable yet adrenaline rush I received from this read, I couldn't give her anything less. I'd like to challenge Ms. Clark to find closure for the original four thugs and the ladies that love them, and show us what Omar and Bo are working with! Again, kudo's for a job well done!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Overall disappointed, August 16, 2009
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Thug Lovin' (Thug 4) (Paperback)
I hate to admit it, but I must agree with the first reveiw. I hate the way this book ended, i know she wants that shock value but instead it was like a slap in the face. This book was not a realsitic as the last three, I cant beleive the story lines, it was almost impossible to read. There wasto many characters causing to much cauious. I am a huge fan of wahida but overal I was disappointed with book, I was unsure what would have happened in Thug Lovin, but would have never imagined the ending. I am now vowing not purchase the next book, my hopes of happy ending of Kyra (over), Trae and Tasha (splittsville), Jaz and Fahaeem (maybe in jail).I did not like this book.

There is no denying it, Wahida is "truely" the QUEEN of Hip-Hop Fiction!! I, like many others followed the "Thug" series and must say number 4 just blew me away. I was not prepared at all for the drama that unfoled in Thug Lovin. A few respondents expressed issues with Tasha and Kyra being "dumb" down and doing the unthinkable. It's more like they've been "life" down. I know we want the characters to live happily ever after but that's not how the game works. In today's society the life/game the characters portray; it would not be realistic if there wasn't mad, crazy drama. Wahida, you did your thing on this one babe!! I'm still walking around saying WTF and shaking my head regarding what unfolded in this one. Yes, I was disappointed in Trae and Tasha's actions and cried like a baby over Kyra's issues but; such is life. I'm not one to give away the storyline so you're going to have to read Thug Lovin and decide for yourself. If you're not ready for REAL Thug fiction, there's always Harliquinn romances. I will say, number 5 needs to be forthcoming with the quickness!!
