Boys to Men,

This review is from: From a Thug to a Man (Perfect Paperback)
Once just the baby of the family, with a sudden change of circumstances Quran is now the man of the house. His newfound status drives him to the streets. With the streets as his guide and mentor, will he be able to make a successful transition from thug to man?
Newcomer C-Note presents the perils of the life chosen by his protagonist. I appreciate the author's effort, but ultimately he could not retain balance. From the flip-flop narrative to too many unnecessary characters to lack of editing, "From a Thug to a Man" is uneven. With the help of an editor to keep his work focused I think C-Note has potential.

I really enjoyed this book. It was well written, packed with action, suspense, love and drama.
The main ingredients for a movie. I love the way the author expressed his love for family. When the chips are down that's all you got. I can't wait to read the next one. Cheers C-Note. From the author of Walking In Her Shoes.

A Dangerous Level,

This review is from: From a Thug to a Man (Perfect Paperback)
Quran Smith was at an impressionable age when his family lost their father. Soon after his two older brothers are incarcerated and just like that, he's the man of the family. With nothing or no one to stop him from exploring his thug, Quran, nicknamed Quick, jumped right in and unleashed his power unto the streets of Boston.
FROM A THUG 2 A MAN written by C-Note is a potent read about murder, hustling, dodging bullets, clubbing, major mistakes and drama. While I liked that the author gives readers the inside scoop, I wished he would've taken more time to provide readers with a better quality of work. The editing is shot! There are missing words, misspelled words and the time line is non existent. Honestly, I liked the book, especially the message the author is conveying. I hope that when he releases part II he will consider my suggestions. Reviewed by: Crystal |
