Review

"...a wonderful novel. The storyline and characterization were so realistic ...I didn't want the story to end." -- RAWSISTAZ, October 23, 2005

Product Description

THE LONG AWAITED SEQUEL TO "THUGS ARE FOR FUN" by J.Gail.
Jacy is getting older. Now at 24, she is starting to re-evaluate her choices in men. She has been dating Popi, a man whose last name she doesn’t even know, for nearly half a year. She struggles to break from from this irrational, potentially violent thug, because she knows deep in her heart he ain’t no good, and definitely no fun. But he’s not trying to hear it. He shows up to her apartment unannounced, stresses her out and shows disrespect to the point where Jacy starts to fear for her safety. The unthinkable happens to Jacy in this chaotic relationship. It’s starting to look like she has gotten herself involved with the wrong thug.

He’s nothing like Rich Wilkins, her last thug, who maintained a certain level of integrity and respect in his short lived relationship with Jacy. Right now, Rich’s anger problem is looking like a breezy Sunday afternoon compared to the problems she is experiencing with Popi.

Is Jacy starting to change her previous outlook on men – does she still believe that THUGS ARE FOR FUN? Or will she be forced to adopt a new credo, that THUGS AIN’T NO FUN AT ALL.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Second Part, January 2, 2006
My homegirl gave me these books (thugs are for fun and thugs ain't no fun at all). I didn't think i'd be into them as a man, but they had my attention. Since reading them I even started reading more black books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Unable to live by my rules, January 21, 2006
By MzCarmen "Reading Mom" (Chicago, Illinois) - See all my reviews
Jacilyn "Jacy" Thomas is still the same. Or is she? Popi isn't abiding by the laws that she usually demands. Although it has only been a few months into this relationship she's realized this situation may be completely out of control.

After seeing Rich, her former enthusiast she wonders what she ever saw in Popi. Rich didn't stop feeling for Jaci he simply didn't have a way to contact her. With the time that has passed can these two find the light at the end of the tunnel?

4.0 out of 5 stars Thug Loving, December 30, 2005
By The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers (RAWSISTAZ.com and BlackBookReviews.net) - See all my reviews
J. Gail is back with THUGS AIN'T NO FUN AT ALL, the sequel to Thugs Are For Fun. In this gritty novel the protagonist Jacilyn "Jacy" Thomas is still up to her old tricks, but has had enough. For a few months she has been dating a thug named Popi, and it's sad to say but she doesn't even know his last name. Jacy soon realizes that Popi is not all he's cracked up to be when he takes his transgressions out on her.

When Jacy runs into her former thug lover the suave and debonair Rich Wilkins, she wonders what she ever saw in Popi. With no means of contacting Jacy, because she relocated and changed her number, Rich has been pining over her since their tumultuous break-up. So, after seeing Jacy, Rich makes his intentions of getting her back well known. Will the two discover happiness a second time around? You'll have to read THUGS AIN'T NO FUN AT ALL to find out.

Ms. Gail has written a wonderful novel. The storyline and characterization were so realistic to the point where I didn't want the story to end. Readers will be introduced to a slew of characters who, whether friend or foe, played an integral role in the completion of this story. Although a sequel, THUGS AIN'T NO FUN AT ALL can be enjoyed without reading the previous novel. However, the ending leads me to believe there's more to Jacy and Rich's newfound romance.
