5.0 out of 5 stars Simplicity is a virtue
These rack towers are such a no-brainer that a blind person could mount them by touch. (I hope I did not offend anyone--just making a point.) Some rigs have very wide rails, in particular a two-year model of Forester and of course, the cool looking but inadequate rails on the Xterra. You must consult Thule's Fit Guide. The knob/lock/tightening tool is pure genius. Like...

3.0 out of 5 stars High Quality. Little tough to install. Some Windnoise.
We purchased this product to go on our Ford Flex. The Bands that go around the Roof Rack Base on Vehicle are a bit tight. They were just long enough to secure. The wrench for tightening/securing the bands are in the side underneath the THULE logo. Since it was a bit hard to pull the strap around and tighten...the tool doesn't seem to want to "snap" home into the base...

The Cross Bars (not included in the Roof Rack Foot Pack) are well constructed. Very robust. They have a slight whistling...so we tend not to have it always on...only when needed.
I am disappointed that the locks are not included with the rack foot pack...especially for the price. It was not clearly stated in the description. The End Caps are included in the foot pack...but they are not included with the cross bars. Which seems odd.

Just consult their Fit Guide and you'll be racked up in no time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Option I've Found, September 6, 2008
This review is from: Thule Crossroad Railing Foot - 4 Pack (Sports)
We've been using Thule products on our cars for about 10 years. I like the "square" form factor. Gives a really good + strong fit. This is my first set of 450s and I'm surprising pleased. Like all Thules these are well built and beautifully designed. I had some trepidation about the plastic strap on the bottom [I'm a big fan of the 415s] but these fit securely and are working out nicely. Customer service at Thule is incredible; another great reason for buying their products.

5.0 out of 5 stars By far the easiest rack to mount, January 5, 2011

Just removed my bike rack for the winter and it was so easy. Not like my last rack which scratched my roof up. The rubber grips very secure and there is no movement or vibration. I bought these used and will probable be able to sell them for the same price if my next van can not use them. Thule makes the best well thought out products.

Thule products are the best. The 450 Cross Road Railing Foot Pack is a solid fit on the factory racks of my Escape.
East to attach.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly on my 2010 Honda Pilot, October 29, 2009

I have been a fan (and owner) of Thule products for well over a decade. These feet work very well on the factory Honda Pilot roof rails (09/10). I was a bit concerned about the rubber strap that wraps under the bottom, but it seems to be VERY thick and durrable - no concerns anymore. Unlike some of my old Thule feet, these engaged very easily with the load boars and the simple allen screw tightened everything up very smoothly.

Note that these are only for the square load bars, not the aero ones. The end caps have a knock out for the Thule locks - which not included with the feet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thule 450's worked perfectly., August 28, 2009

We own a Thule luggage pod and, last year, mounted it on our full size van with the load bars and gutter mounts, also from Thule. This year, a week before we were to leave on vacation and never thinking to look beforehand, I discovered that our Honda Pilot (that we have now instead of the van) doesn't have gutters, just front to back rails for a roof rack! Ahh! Well, I bounced around the internet for a little bit and found out that the 450 Crossroads were made just for that. And they worked great! My wife and I slid the load bars through the 450's, positioned them on the Pilot then wrapped the protective strap around the Honda rails and tightened them up. Absolutely dream easy! Each 450 has it's own Allen head tool for tightening that stores away in itself. Very solid, good design. The strap and amount of adjustment that the 450 has would make me think that it could fit many different size and shape rails.

Have owned a Thule roof rack for years and always attached it to our Jeep's existing roof rack. However, we sold the jeep last summer and were disappointed to learn that our new car's roof rack did not come with the cross bars. We purchased the Thule cross bars, foot pack, and locks and loaded up our car for the Jersey shore. Worked like a charm. Installation was easy; the biggest issue was moving the feet in tandom to get everything even (the existing bars were curved to contour the car). In a nutshell: my husband didn't work too long at the installation and any complaining was minimal (if any) so, for us, that is a success story!
