Thule One-lock System is amazing!!,

I bought the 6-pack of lock cylinders so that my roof rack (4 cylinders), bike hitch (one cylinder) and roof top box (one cylinder) could all use the same key. My boyfriend and I are both engineers and we like to make things as simple as possible. Thule makes this easy!
Almost every product Thule sells is compatible with their one-key/one-lock system. If it isn't, it usually says so in the product description (example: the cable bike lock by Thule). Each cylinder fit perfectly in the product we needed it for- no extra tools or stress! Brilliant!! Though we might need the 8 pack soon instead.

I installed these in the Thule Rapid Traverse Foot Pack. Installation of the locks is really easy, and while installation of these might prevent a passer-by from trying to get the Thule Foot Pack and bars off your car, they won't prevent a thief who is really out to steal your stuff from getting to it. First, to even get the Thule feet to release from your car a thief will need to have the special wrench that is used to tighten down the feet. These locks just prevent the plastic door on the outside of the foot pack from being opened. If a thief has come to steal your stuff with a Thule wrench, there is a good chance he has also brought something to cut the plastic door on the foot pack, which is not made of very thick plastic. Hence, these locks are not going to prevent your Thule gear from being stolen by a sophisticated thief. So, while they may be nice to have I do not think they are necessary, and they definitely are not cheap for four little locks.
