5.0 out of 5 stars Works great even on dirt/gravel roads
These chains are easy on & off, and work great on my driveway (1+ mile long, uphill dirt & gravel road) in Upstate New York. Great traction in snow and or ice as well. Highly recommend. Also, they were ordered on one day and came the very next!

3.0 out of 5 stars Thule snow chains
The chains, when installed correctly, work pretty well. The inline part of the chain is not very effective. The chain material is not a good quality metal. If you have to use the chains for a long time they will wear out fairly quickly. I live in northern Wisconsin. For occasional use they work fine. 5.0 out of 5 stars Check Size, August 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The first set I purchased based on the size chart, were too big. The manufacturer took them back and gave me a refund, but I wish I had returned them to Amazon instead. Then I ordered the next smaller size and test fit them and they are fine. Be sure to test fit yours as soon as you get them to make sure they fit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to Put on, Better than Cables, February 4, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These are solid chains, and don't feel as flimsy as cables. My friend's snow cables broke on his way down from Big Bear Lake, CA. He had just bought them the day before. The instructions are fairly simple to follow, and the colored links make it simple to determine where to connect everything. (You can see the red connections in the picture.) You may have to drive a little bit and then re-tighten the links since each chain is made for several different sized tires. This is easily done by disconnecting one connection and pulling it tighter before reconnecting it.

When I put these on my 2007 Honda CR-V, I was easily done in a few minutes for each tire. While other people were getting stuck at the snow/iced filled parking lot in Big Bear using their cables, I was able to easily get out without a single problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars snow chains, March 30, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Use to the "old style" chains, so it took a little longer than expected to figure out how to attach them the first time.
After that, they are fast to put on and take off. Worked well on steep, ice and packed snow inclines.

This review is from: Thule 16mm XB16 High Quality SUV/Truck Snow Chain, Size 265 (Sold in pairs) (Misc.)
Purchased two sets for Tundra 4x4. I suggest you spend some dry-time learning the product as they are unique to install.
I live in the National Forest with no road service for private property. Three months of snow and ice made the steep climb impossible without traction. One chain on each wheel, extra low 4wd, no problems over 18+" snow and ice pack. You will get wet and you will get dirty when field installing. Comes in a nice, two-chain-case with drawings for instructions. A good buy. I never leave home without them in my emergency kit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great high quality tire chains, March 3, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is my first experience with tire chains and it is a good one. I installed them on a 2003 BMW X5. The instructions are all visual and it takes a little while to figure them out the first time. After that, they go on quickly and intuitively. There is very little clearance between the chain and the front wheel strut, but nothing seems to rub in use. These chains bite very well in ice and snow and provide good uphill traction.

4.0 out of 5 stars Snow chains, January 15, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These came in super fast time. They are the perfect fit for Honda minivan. The chains came in a very smart space efficent, carry container. Ideal after pulling them off wet dirty car tires. Instructions were very user friendy and we put the snow chains on very quickly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Go with Snow, March 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These snow chains are by far the easiest chains I've ever used to put on a tire except for the quick connect/disconnect chains that aren't for driving any distances on.

The only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 is that the instructions should have been written on or under a plastic laminate (not paper), because paper and snow don't mix when you are trying to read something. I wish the product manufacturer would include a few more detailed photos or even better include a DVD video, especially when you pay more for these premium chains.

I would highly recommend putting the chains on your vehicle in your garage one time before you really need them so you will know how it works.

Once I figured out the instruction, it was a piece of cake. The self tension-ing system is great too because as you drive forward the tension-er actually tightens the chain even more around the tire. When the chains are on the tire properly they do NOT inhibit the brake lines, anti-skid sensors, or body frame and stick closely to the tire on the inside and outside tire wall.

As far as performance is concerned I drove everywhere with these chains on my vehicle on ice or snow and steep up and down hills.

I liked the chains so much for my SUV, I bought another set for my car too.

Another feature I like is that the chains will fit back into their container after you let the snow melt off and the chains are dry. This takes a lot less room to store in your trunk or garage during off season.

Great product and highly recommended.
