5.0 out of 5 stars Read this book before you read Hillary's new book
In this intruguing expose by the former FBI agent who spilled the beans on Bill and Hillary Clinton back in 1997, Gary Aldrich reminds us all why the Clinton's aren't to be trusted. Aldrich goes a step farther in Thunder on the Left and shows how the entire Democtatic Party is now beholden to the Clinton's and other left-wing radicals. Aldrich writes like a seasoned...

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed Republican
As a conservative republican, I was highly disappointed by Gary Aldrich's book. I read it cover-to-cover, hoping he would eventually develop a coherent argument, backed up with well-documented facts. However, the entire book was a 170-page rant, including a list of topics Bill Clinton might consider for a radio show. To make matters worse, Aldrich often contradicts...

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting and Enlightening Work, June 27, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Thunder on the Left: An Insider's Report on the Hijacking of the Democratic Party (Hardcover)
Everyone always wonders where all the college liberals and radicals go once they graduate. Do they really change their ideals and moderate?

Gary Aldrich reveals in this book that tha hard-left is alive and kicking in the corridors of Washington. The agenda of many Democrats in power is very different than the agenda of heartland democrats.

It is precisely this agenda that Mr. Aldrich exposes in this book. A trusted FBI agent of 26 years, Mr. Aldrich brings the incisive analysis and investigative expertise that he first demonstrated in Unlimited Access to this new book.

A must read for any true conservative!

4.0 out of 5 stars Polemical but Documented, July 8, 2003
By
This review is from: Thunder on the Left: An Insider's Report on the Hijacking of the Democratic Party (Hardcover)
Yet another tale of how the Democratic Party has become beholden to a variety of leftwing interests. This has only become more apparent after the passing of the "Campaign Finance Reform" Law. Now that soft money is prohibited, those running must appeal to the only sources that can supply the bread - Emily's List, NOW, environmental groups, etc...all with a leftwing perspective.

After reading this somewhat depressint tome, two things should be noted. (1) The majority of those on the Left do not consider themselves "liberal" - they view their tilt as moderate (quote unquote). NPR, CNN, CSB, TIME, MSN, ABC, NBC, The TImes (NY, LA, DC) - all hugely influential media outlets shriek at the mere suggestion of a liberal bias and insist they are moderate or even neutral in the ideological war within the nation. This is due to a variety of reasons - namely their everyday world which is populated by like-minded folks who are well-heeled, well-educated and well to the left of the average American.

The second point is that liberals do not have an active "agenda" for bringing a socialist, authoritarian government in power. Besides, those kinds of governments eventually limit the very debate they now enjoy. Most consider the European model of an orderly, socialist welfare state supporting the arts and keeping everyone more or less the same far superio to our often clumsy, redundant, uneven capitalist culture. The author makes good read on the silliness - even anti-Americanism - that permeates the Democratic core but one must allow that even they THINK they are doing what is best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Valuable insights, November 4, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Thunder on the Left: An Insider's Report on the Hijacking of the Democratic Party (Hardcover)
If you're able to set your political prejudices aside, and it appears that political prejudice is to the 21st century what racial prejudice was to the 19th century, you'll find this to be an interesting and informative book on the machinations of those with political, as opposed to societal, interests in the Democratic party. I'm a long time Democrat but facts are facts and sleaze is sleaze.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hooray for the Courage to tell the Truth, June 19, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Thunder on the Left: An Insider's Report on the Hijacking of the Democratic Party (Hardcover)
Once again Aldrich proves he is a man of courage. He tells the truth about the way things really are, not in political correct terms. He is giving examples to support his thoughts and beliefs and they can NOT be refuted by reason. Liberals don't care about reason they argue facts with distraction, feelings, lies if they must.
Read the hard cold facts of life as told by one of the most courageous men around

This review is from: Thunder on the Left: An Insider's Report on the Hijacking of the Democratic Party (Hardcover)
You libs really need to get your head out of the hindquarters of the clintons (and I use the lower case c for a reason, for I have no respect for the worst President and her husband LOL in my life time) However, I hand it to you Mr. Aldrich, keep up the good work. The truth needs to be told. You will find this book interesting and hard to put down.

Truth is stranger than fiction, but really that depends on your definition of is, is!!!!!!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars More truth, April 5, 2004
This review is from: Thunder on the Left: An Insider's Report on the Hijacking of the Democratic Party (Hardcover)
Author Aldrich obviously is passionate about his beliefs,
and they are showcased here as he paints a rather broad
picture of leftist hatred of our American history and culture,
and he urges us to help steer America on the correct course
as established by the Founding Fathers.
His views seem correct, but this not a simple hate-Democrats
book as might be thought, as he states and shows he is not
unhappy with mainstream Democrats, but at the fringe element
of that Party that has virtually taken over.
And we have to know he is not making any phony claims. Even
our Indiana Democrat Senator, Evan Bayh, has publicly questioned
the direction of the national Democrat party, and he has made
some effort to organize party members to help insure that the
Party doesn't go off in some very minority, unpopular direction.
And Aldrich doesn't hesitate to critize the current Republican
administration in some regards, where he feels they are veering
too far from our Republic's guiding principles.
So this is not a purely political diatribe at all, but is the
author's vision of where America should be heading, as he
outlines some of the failings of many who would try to lead us
in the wrong direction.
He has a lot of truth to present, based on history and an understanding of world politics, and he presents his views with
clarity and strength, so this book should be read by all interested voters and citizens.

My thanks to Mr. Aldrich for giving us this fine book. Exposing the serious threat to America and our way of life is something there cannot be an overabundance of.
