Book Description

September 4, 2007
A man with no nation will fight for a woman with no hope...

Yakima Henry left his ranch in the White Mountains for supplies, and rode right into a bloody shootout between Saber Creek townsfolk and a gang of banditos who just robbed a stagecoach. But what really riles Yakima is the banditos making off with his prized stallion, Wolf, and a pretty saloon girl.

The Thunder Riders Frank Leslie is a very good writer,
his westerns are fast paced, full of action through out the story. He tells
of one man's struggle to live a quiet life to raise his horses to sell. The
stories are an insight into belonging in society whatever your background.
There is some violence. Hope you will enjoy this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Thunder Riders by Frank Leslie, February 19, 2009

This is an outstanding western book. The array of characters are both hardened and colorful and the story line carries you forward to an exciting conclusion. I couldn't put the book down and finished it over a weekend. I am going to purchase other Frank Leslie books. However, Leslie inserts some comparatively graphic sexual scenes, which, while not gratuitous, really don't add much to the book. The characters and the story line are the main ingredients in this well written book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not the way I remember the westerns of my youth, July 25, 2011

Do you understand the idea of comfort food? That is the food of your youth that makes you feel good,i.e. mac and cheese, fried chicken, or mother's homecooking. Well this concept applies to reading too. I will read any and everything but after awhile I grave the books of my youth, westerns. Wade Evertt, T.V. Olsen, Richard Jessup to name a few. So when this time came I picked up Frank Leslie's THE THUNDER RIDERS. I was expecting the warm memories of youth to come out.....well you know things change. This is one of a series featuring Yakima Henry. He is a no nonsense half breed with No sense of humor and hard as nails. He has priories such as Horses and then a woman. He is mean and there are hints of his past where he got his yellowboy and his fighting skills. This time he takes on the gang of outlaws who have taken his horse and his "girl?" Henry pisses off two sheriffs and breaks out jail and kills and kills. Now I must mention that there is a lot of sex here and a little bit of kinky sex too.. Yes this is not the westerns of my youth but it "ain't" back. So check out this series, Henry is very interesting man and the sex.............
