One of the best naval battle/intrigue books ever.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Thunder at Dawn (Library Binding)
Alan Evans writes Thunder at Dawn as both a mystery story and ultimately a Sampson & Goliath Naval Battle. The setting is WW I in a backwater theater. A British Naval officer gets his last chance to prove his worth to the British Admiralty by assuming command of an obsolete Cruiser the "Thunder". With the help of two spys, a young British girl and an American aviator, the young captain solves the mystery which sets up what could be the most important naval battle of the war. The book is great entertainment and is not easily put down.

An excellent WWI novel about a British four stack destroyer. Very good plot and writing style.
