3.0 out of 5 stars Marvel - 'Thunderblood Heart' (Killer Cobra Records) 3 1/2 stars, July 20, 2009
This review is from: Thunderblood Heart (Audio CD)
Power metal trio - coming from Linkoping, Sweden. 'Thunderblood Heart' is their second CD. Each band member goes by an alias - John Steen (aka Vocalo)-guitar & vocals, Ulrik Bostedk (aka Animalizer)-bass and Tony Samuelsson (aka Ambassador)-drums. Some might tag this as 'Swedish pop metal'. The comic book-like appearance of the CD cover might indicate that this metal trio isn't meant to be taken TOO seriously - just having more fun is {likely} an important factor here. I'm guessing Marvel's music is supposed to be accompanied by visual(s) as well. Tracks that managed to pull me in were "I Wanna Know You (Just A little Bit Better)", the catchy "So Good Together", the total *ss-kicking "Girl, Where's My Amulet?" and the rocker "Code Of The Road". Should do something for long time fans of Thor, Manowar, Raven, Scatterbrains and maybe Kik Tracee (anyone remember them?). Noticed the playing side of the CD is blood red in color - think they're trying to tell us something?
