5.0 out of 5 stars Real ... Solid Melodic Rock/Metal, March 3, 2004

Steve Randall "live4metal" (El Segundo, CA. United States) - See all my reviews

Oh how I love discovering new bands.New to me at least. This bands been around for ten years or so.I'd heard of them but never checked 'em out.My mistake.
I'd heard good things about this band, and I guess Andi Derris of Helloween was the original singer. But the guy on this one,and the last few or more releases, is named David Readman. And he's got a great voice! Very clear and powerful.Sounds to me like a much stronger Jani Lane of Warrant.
This is some great music that I'm sure most people,at least in the USA,don't even know exists anymore.Just great hook ladened hard rock. These dudes are from Germany and are pretty big there and elsewhere.
You could compare this to Tesla,Dokken,Pretty Maids,Harem Scarem,Warrant and Steelhouse Lane. All bands I really dig.
Thunderdome is a well produced power house album.Something like this released in 1989 would've been huge.Right up there with the Whitesnakes and Skid Rows.
Really not a bad track on this one.But my favorites are Thunderdome,Carnaby Road,Retro Lullaby,As Deep As I Am and the excellent power ballad That Was Yesterday.( Not the Foreigner Track)
If you're a fan of any of the bands I've mentioned above and are in need of some decent new music, grab this. You won't be sorry.. ... You can never get too much of a good thing.

3.0 out of 5 stars The best of the Readman era...., April 5, 2009
This review is from: Thunderdome (Audio CD)
First off, I'm more of an Andi Deris/Helloween fan. But I have a few of the David Readman era PC 69 cds (Thunderdome, Electrified, Endangered). This one seems to have stronger songs, and stands out of those. Electrified is also solid, while Endangered seem a bit more filler. The ever stable line up of Dennis Ward(bass), Alfred Koffler(guitar), and Kosta Zafiriou(drums), with keyboardist Guenter Werno on a couple of tracks. The title track is quite good, and was stuck in my head a while. Very catchy.

5.0 out of 5 stars OHHHH YEAHHH, December 14, 2008
This review is from: Thunderdome (Audio CD)
Some history....My first experience of Pink Cream 69 was a song called Break The Silence back in 1998 when it was featured on a taster cd on the front of a metal magazine.

As soon as the song had finished assaulting my ears with what I can only describe as a full on melodic whipping just teetering on the edge of heavy metal but not quite stepping over the line, I decided I absolutely must own the cd which it was taken from.

I found it, it was called Electrified and it does exactly that to you as you listen. I don't have any of their earlier cds but I have every one released after then including Sonic Dynamite, Endangered, Thunderdome (this one that I'm reviewing) and the follow up to that called In10sity.

There really isn't much for me to say about this cd or the band except, if you can find their music, buy it!!

Forgive me for swearing but they are f**king awesome, the hooks, the riffs, the solos, the vocals, the production, everything about them screams quality, perfection and class.

I don't know of a better band in this genre. They just get better and better and I have no idea how because they started off bloody brilliant.

Amongst the ranks they have Denis Ward, the american born bass player, major songwriter for the band and not only does he produce their music he's renowned as one of the best producers in the business anyway. Then you have Mr David Readman born in the UK and their 2nd vocalist after the first one left to join Helloween, David is also a major songwriter for PC69 and also has his own band on the side and has been voted by the industry as the 2nd best vocalist in rock/metal behind D.C. Cooper of Royal Hunt.

So when I say this band is good, I mean it.

You will not be dissapointed by this disc or any other PC69 disc.

Find it, buy it, rock out and love it.
