5.0 out of 5 stars Authentic
This is authentic Tibetan tantric chanting and instrumentation recorded on location at the Khampagar Monastery almost 30 years ago. It is an integral part of the sadhana and invocation of Padmasambhava and the fierce dharma protector Mahakala. Sounded like some creepy gothic humming rather than the ethereal chanting that it is supposed to be. I'd try the CD "OM" first...This CD would not even rate as a choice imho.

5.0 out of 5 stars The real thing!!, December 1, 2002

It ain't "new age." Authentic meditation to specificlly invoke the higher self, the divine self. The holy and sacred places w/in ourselves that is the closest we can get to the roof of our world w/in our heart. The holy man/woman w/in each of us. This recording is close to 30 years old. There are others done by the same producer that are just as rare, just as sacred. All of them are good. When I need to see my holy woman, it's this & the others by David Lewiston that I tune in to.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great meditation guide., August 9, 1998

This CD is fantastic for a 30-50 minute meditation. Play it at a low volume, and soon you begin to resonate with the chants. It will take you down and gently bring you back up. I highly recommend it.

I first listened to this CD while on retreat. The retreat house had an extensive music collection still on vinyl. Of all the music I listened to that weekend, Tibetan Buddhism was one of the most profound! I'm glad it's available on CD and I'm grateful to have found it on Amazon after all these years!
