This set of discs presents a comprehensive look at the religious and secular music of Tibetan Buddhists in Bhutan. Not only are monastic rituals covered, but selections from local folk traditions are presented. The quality of the recording itself is superb. Additionally, the documentation of the music, which is often lacking in discs of this type (which are generally imports, not always even translated), is excellent, and provides a good background on both the music and the instruments making it. All in all a very good overview of a fast disappearing tradition of music.
