warning: pirated copy,
This review is from: Tibetan Prayer Chants (Audio CD)
I am the original anthropologist/sound recorder of this CD, which was produced in 1996 by Polyglobe in Austria. Sadly, this version is pirated by the label 'Sow'. The other pirated version is from the label 'Sounds of the World'. Both are for sale in the US, but neither of these two companies sends proceeds from the sale to the NGO, Gaden Choling which supports the Chuchikjall Nuns. IF you want to buy this CD, please buy it from Polyglobe Austria [http://www.polyglobemusic.com/ ]
The recording is beautiful, produced from the 20 nuns of Chuchikjall nunnery, in Karsha, Zangskar.

I really want to support Buddhist Nuns; they are very admirable. However their chanting was so high pitched that I couldn't enjoy it. I'm just one person though. The breadth of the chants on this cd is wonderful.

Beautiful, Hypnotic, and Authentic,

This review is from: Tibetan Prayer Chants (Audio CD)
Pure and authentic chanting by Tibetan nuns of Chuchikjall Nunnery in Karsha, Zanskar. It is a live recording made inside a one-thousand-year-old temple dedicated to Avalokitesvara. The beautiful and hypnotic voices bring one into a state of peaceful upliftment. The occasional sounds of coughing, people walking, etc., actually enhances the listening experience, as one feels like being right there in the temple with the nuns. Anyone interested in Tibetan Buddhism and especially prayer chants by nuns, will enjoy this CD. As there are so few
