5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality colour photos
Excellent book for a general overview of the breed. I would recommend it to anyone with either a general interest in the breed or a specific interest. The colour photos are of an incredible quality and give the newcomer especially an idea as to the varying colours of the Tibetan Spaniel.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good guide to a lovely breed, January 23, 2009
This review is from: Tibetan Spaniel: A Complete and Reliable Handbook (Complete and Reliable Handbooks) (Hardcover)
I had to special order this book from a bookstore about nine years ago when we first discovered Tibbies. It helped us decide to get a Tibetan Spaniel of our own. My wife and I first saw these beautiful little dogs at a dog show in Annapolis and fell in love with them. They are still a relatively rare breed here in the U.S. though, and you are screened pretty carefully to get one. We got our Barney from Herb and Anita Rosen in MD over eight years ago and we love him like a child. Stupid, I know, but there it is. We didn't know then that Herb was an authority on Tibbies as well as other dog breeds and is well respected within the AKC. Our dog's grandfather, Champion Wildhern Full of Fire, is pictured on p. 20 of Miccio's book, which is chock full of beautiful photos, as well as useful information on the breed's history and idiosyncracies. Miccio has another book on Tibbies that is a bit more detailed called, The Tibetan Spaniel, A Gift from the Roof of the World (OTR Publications, Centreville, Alabama). But this book is perhaps a bit more visually attractive. Tibbies are Tops! - Tim Bazzett, author of the Reed City Boy trilogy
