Vader has an exhaustive catalog of solid death metal releases , with some being near masterpieces such as De Profundis, Litany , Welcome To The Morbid Reich and the very strong Impressions in Blood album. When I bought their album The Ultimate Incantation back in 1992 , I thought they were a strong band but they were resigned to the shadows of the giants like Deicide and Morbid Angel. Fast forward nearly a quarter century later , and the tables have turned . This band simply s***s all over the recent releases of the aforementioned bands. Vader has never shied away from showcasing their Slayer and Morbid Angel influences , but I guess impression is the greatest form of flattery. Tibi Et Igni is one of their best produced , skull-crushing releases yet . Any metal fan should find something to savor here : thrashy riffs, divebomb solos, double bass pummeling and lion-esque vocals . The only misstep I found would be how the albums ends with the slow burner song The End ; it is more mid-paced and bogs down the onward momentum of the rest of the album. Aside from this minor flaw, all of the songs rip it up in styles akin to Deicide, Morbid Angel, Slayer, Kreator and Malevolent Creation . Peter's voice is in top form and his mystique-ridden lyrics are far more interesting than anything Glen Benton burps out these days . This album undoubtedly stacks up against the best ones in Vader's discography . It may not be as innovative or bloodthirsty as some of the older albums , but it is their most versatile and cohesive . The songs have their own identity and don't bleed together into one blur . Standouts include Go To Hell , Where Angels Weep, The Eye Of The Abyss, and The Light Reaper . a full on bulldozer of a death metal album that will hopefully propel Vader into the upper hierarchy of bands . Morbid Angel should be ashamed of themselves .. and this should serve as a wake-up call to bands like Deicide who have become lazy and uninspired .

A few years have come and gone. Alright, many years...Vader is still producing heavy death metal, and it's not to disappoint. Poland has the luxury of housing these beasts, as they lay down some heavy, fast, old school death metal.

Vader has much experience in producing metal. Since starting in 1983, each record that has been put out has been a pleasant evolution of their sound. Each release seems to get a little more heavy, and Tibi Et Igni is a heavy continuation. Specifically of Welcome to the Morbid Reich which was already headed in that direction. There are some similarities, but what is not deniable is Tibi Et Igni has brought that old school flavor and trashy traits to a whole new level. Long time fans will be happy as the band has maintained their focused sound, and added more technical speedy riffs that will leave you picking up slabs of your face, or what's left over from what has already just been shredded.

From the opener "Go to Hell", to "Hexenkessel", and the whole way to "The End", Tibi Et Igni contains an epic feel, and is perfectly crafted to fit with this old school style death metal.

Vader continues to be catchy, and incorporates the atmosphere of proper brutal riffs and lyrics. This is clearly evident in the song "Triumph of Death." From the catchy verses, to the quick guitar solos, then back to the slamming verses in which are spate out by ferocious vocals, this track will form a circle pit in your mind.

The track "Abandon all Hope" is a perfect example of how mature and focused Vader's sound is. The track has scattered blast beats throughout, but does not overuse them as many other bands might. It incorporates them with a perfect frequency, but does not abandon them in heavy portions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vader once again pulverize the competition September 17, 2014
Format:Audio CD
Behemoth gets more press than Vader, partially due to Adam Darsky's (aka Nergal) fight with censorship and the Polish government and then his heroic and hopefully successful battle with leukemia, where tons of metal followers showed enormous support for one of the most important fighters for free speech out there. That doesn't mean Vader, fellow Poles, don't have their legion of fans. One wouldn't have thought Poland, thanks to its isolation for so long could be on the cutting edge of any type of western music, but in these two bands' cases, the book on death metal and black/death metal in Behemoth's case have had to be redefined, so potent the output of these outlaws.
Hailed by no less a metal giant than Overkill's Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth, Vader have been been producing death metal for years and just get better and more ferocious with time. "Tibi Et Igni" features some unusual flourishes, mainly orchestral interludes here and there that they visited before. It actually works quite well, showing that classical instrumentation can be intense as well, and compliment the death metal attack.
What makes Vader stand apart is their sound. The songs are top notch, but unlike lots of bands where bass players may as well not even show up, thanks to low tuned guitars, or a fuzz tone that follows the rhythm guitar around and is inaudible. Not so with Vader. Here, the bass is deep, thundering and a welcome sound, as so much death metal can't even breathe due to a lack of dynamics. To illustrate my point, as much as I love Sepultura's early work and Morbid Angel, the bass lines are practically useless, and we all know what Metallica did to Jason Newsted.

Seems it's in a digipak. I haven't seen it for myself, but everything that I've seen online leads me to believe that.
