Don't Be MISLED!!, August 20, 2010
Be warned. Don't make my mistake! Although this is called the "Tiburon Duet", it is actually only the first story, "Just a Kiss". Some of the previous reviews allude to this being BOTH stories- also "Just One Embrace".
I bought this thru the Kindle app on on my phone (which doesn't always give many details btw-i.e. no. of pages/book length, original publication date, other editions, etc.). This is ONLY the first story. I purchased this thinking it was 2 stories in one, but be advised that you must buy the second story separately. "JaK" was a pretty good story, funny at times and creative. I give it 3.5 stars, and I'm a fairly strict critic when it comes to my reading selection. This was my first book by this author. I will also give the second one a try.
There are already great summaries of the plot, so I won't go there again. I will however, say this: yes, it is a "steamy" story, but I wouldn't go so far as "scorching" or hot, hot, hot- whatever that means. I mean really in the end, it is all subjective. Just to give a comparison, I LOVE many of Emma Holly's books - hers are "scorching" and generally with an outstanding prose. Devine's books, to ME (and no offense to her fans-this is just MY opinion) are unnecessarily raunchy without much depth.
With that said, I wouldn't place this book in either of those two categories. There were not many actual "sex" scenes in the story (not including the orgasmic kisses, lol). But @ only a few bucks, it's still worth giving "JaK" a try. I would have felt much better about my decision to purchase though had I not been misled by others' reviews. I hope this helps someone else. Happy reading!

Just A Kiss, May 8, 2008
Running from a madman, Gabrielle stumbles upon a group of aliens
preparing to return to their world. They have no choice but to take
her with them when she faints in their "circle". Waking up aboard a
spaceship, Gabrielle finds herself in a room with a beautiful man who
begs her to kiss him. Figuring "what the heck", Gabrielle puts her
mouth to his and they kiss. What Gabrielle thinks of as just a simple
kiss, to Keller it is much, much more.
Keller, the heir apparent of Tiburon, is still hurting from the loss of
his wife, and pleads with Gabrielle to kiss him. However, Keller's
meaning for a kiss is different than Gabrielle's, and he is amazed to
realize that he now has to make Gabrielle his life partner.
After reading Just A Kiss, I realize that evidently I have been missing
out! Where is my chocolate flavored kiss? Every girl needs one of
those at least once in their lifetime! As far as heroes are concerned,
Keller can transport me to his world any day. Gabrielle held her own
with Keller's people, although I thought she protested just a bit much
in wanting to leave and return to Earth. I wanted her to want to stay
and fight for her right to be Keller's life partner. All that aside, I
recommend this story whole-heartedly. Just A Kiss by Lara Santiago was
just a great, sensuous read that I enjoyed very much.
