About the Author

Jonathan Larson received the 1996 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for Rent, the libretto to which is available from Applause (978-1-55783-737-0.) Larson first performed tick, tick... BOOM! as a rock monologue at Second Stage Theatre, The Village Gate, and New York Theatre Workshop. He died unexpectedly of an aortic aneurysm on January 25, 1996, 10 days before his 36th birthday.

I find that I have pulled this music from my shelf more than most musical theatre books I have. Love the music and the price on amazon beats any local music vender. Great music: awesome price!

I really enjoyed reading this play! It's the first time I've found a full printed version published for the public. Any fan of RENT, or any fan of theater, will love reading this for it's insight into the creative mind, the life of a starting artist, and dreaming of making it big!

An excellent biographical sketch, put together by Larson's family, featuring his music throughout!
