Book Description

When Lisa Carrington turns 35 and has her career goals in hand—she gets that panicky feeling. Is it too late? Baby dreams begin to loom large.

She knows the sort of man she needs to complete her life plan. A tweedy, academic type with leather patches on his elbows who quotes Shakespeare and makes wise decisions. Too bad she can’t find one of those. Instead, she gets Carson James, smart alecky and footloose—a man who never had a baby dream in his life. But he is awfully cute—and his kisses make her swoon. Is that enough to make her throw away all she’s gained and head for Tahiti?

Editorial Reviews

"...well-drawn characters...and just the right amount of humor..."  Romantic Times 2010
"(Helen Conrad) is a guilty pleasure as satisfying as a box of Belgian chocolates, or in this case, a fine glass of merlot. Sharp dialogue and relatable characters..." Romantic Times 2005

Format:Kindle Edition
Helen Conrad had done it again...This is a fun quirky and engaging book... The story is about Lisa Carrington and Carson James.. Lisa feels her body clock is in overdrive and time for her to have a baby before she is 35 ... she knows the kind of guy she needs to be the father of her baby and Carson is not him !!! he accepts her proposition... but is he the kind of guy she wants...along the way there are laughs and heartache.. will Carson become the man she wants to father her baby?? will it all end in HAE.. again you need to read the book to fins out.. no spoilers from me !!!

This is the fourth book in the Destiny Bay Baby series by Helen Conrad and like the first three books she did an extremely amazing job. The book and characters were well written. Looking forward to reading the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Series October 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It was a fun and quirky read, just an all around relaxing type of book to have or send as a gift. Just enough spice to make it interesting but not too much that your grandmother wouldn't like it also. I've read several others in the series even though I had to buy them, this book sort of gets you hooked on finding out about the rest of the Carrington's.

More About the Author

Here's my secret to a happy life: by hook or by crook, find some way to make your living doing something you love to do. Worked for me. I've always loved to read and I was always being told not to waste my time with my head in a book. So I found a way to make reading--"research, you know"--necessary to my line of work.

Voila! Happiness!

And there's more to it than that. Travel. Gotta go. Gotta experience those settings and find out what really goes on in those exotic locales. Feel that ambiance! Lean back and watch the sunset with that tall, cool drink in your hand. Research. Aaaah!

Now when you write romances, people always ask about the...ahem...intimate stuff. Do you research that? And my answer is always--only with my adorable, supportive, loving husband. Another foundational requirement for happiness.

The kids began to arrive just about the same time I began selling to publishers, so I mostly carried a baby in one arm, a book in another. Then it was a baby in my lap, another climbing up my leg, and my free hand on the keyboard of a computer. By the time the fourth boy debuted, I had a rule that no one was allowed to bother me during writing time unless there was blood--a rule seldom honored, but at least I tried. And I was there to watch them grow. For me, that was another pillar of my happiness. At least most of the time.

All those years--all those books--all those children. The kids are launched, the years are happy memories, and the books--I'm working on them again!

The first publisher I sold to was Jove's Second Chance at Love. Silhouette Desire came next, then Dell Candlelight Ecstasy, Loveswept, Harlequin, Zebra, Harper. Lately I've been writing for Harlequin Romance as Raye Morgan. So many fun books! I've picked out some of the best of them which I'm rewriting into a series called Destiny Bay following a family called the Carringtons. I haven't been this excited for a long time--finding ways to adjust the characters into this new family, finding ties between them and emotions that just can't be denied--everything feels so new again.

I hope you'll give them a try--and that you'll be happy you did!
