Yet another miracle from Wynn,
By
This review is from: Tick Tick Tick (Audio CD)
If you're in the market for Televison-like guitar duels and top-notch songwriting to boot, then head out and pick this one up pronto. It's the third straight masterpiece from Steve Wynn. This one harkens back to the early Dream Syndicate sound more so than any other Wynn solo lps, which is a good thing. Both Wynn and lead guitarist Jason Victor have developed a chemisrty akin to Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd. Wynn's songwriting skills continue to amaze, even after a nearly 25 year career. Few of his Paisley peers can lay claim to that distinction. Although many may compare Wynn and his mates to Crazy Horse (check them out live and you'll really find out why). Young and Co. haven't made anything nearly this good in almost 30 years. Put down that british post-punk revival crap and reconnect to the rock.

ANOTHER FINE DISH,

Steve Wynn has done it again with another great offering of songs that completes his Arizona trilogy. I am still amazed how he keeps churning out one fine tune after another. In this release, I get the idea of one continous album with one chestnut just sliding into another..
A couple of high end rockers with "Killing Me" & "Wild Mercury" sets Jason Victor free with his nuts off the walls leads as they just bang out these tunes...most of the tunes seem to be drifting towards pure vintage as Steve, again, hands us a large handful of songs that have already, in its short life, become classics...all I can say is 'thanks'. Steve has worked a little under radar and I can't ever understand why. His music is dead on and stripped of all plastics. Support honest music and buy this...your tappin' feet will thank you...

Steve Wynn deserves your money,

If I was younger, single and childless, I would backpack through Europe following this amazing band from one smoke filled club to the next. Why this man is not a household name is an eternal mystery to those of us whose lives and impaired hearing owe a great debt to Steve.
Buy this record, then buy them all, including his Dream Syndicate albums.

that about sums this album up. Killer song after killer song. If you are a fan of Steve Wynn, you won't be disappointed. Definitely his best since the Dream Syndicate days. Buy it!

Steve Wynn Takes us further than we expect.
Just when you start to listen and relax into the groove you begin to realize "this is just like any other Steve Wynn collection" and you are going to spend years with it gnarling, snuggling, grooving, and quarreling. Only, this one is the finest of the miracle 3 enmeshed. It is a beautiful thing!

This one is pretty much just the basic quartet of Wynn, Linda Pitmon on drums, Jason Victor on rhythm, Dave deCastro on bass-- so no Chris Cacavas on keyboards. That means fewer 'symphonic textures.' But still SW's interesting 'noir' guitar rock exursions, & in a way a bit closer to the feel of Dream Syndicate. I think there's a little bit of folk rock feel a la Richard Thompson too on songs like "Bruises," but of course Wynn & co. approach it differently. I think the other two albums in the 'desert trilogy' ["Here Come the Miracles" & "Static Transmission"] are even more stunning, but I might reconsider after listening to this for awhile. In any case, it's brilliant guitar based roots rock, and maybe just might appeal to Dream Syndicate fans a lot, as some stuff here evokes them I think. Whatever-- Wynn & this band are great.

A great, organic, rock'n roll album with well crafted lyrics. Miracle 3 here show that they have become a very tight unit, and I love Linda Pitmons backbeat. This album has a real album feel to it, and this band easily measures up to Wynn's eighties indie band, Dream Syndicate. Check out Live Tick as well. Live Tick is even better.

STEVE WYNN SHOULD WIN THE IRON MAN AWARD FOR ALL HIS HARD WORK AND CONSTANT FOCUS ON SUCH BLENDED AND BENDED NOTES. HIS NEW ONE IS SO ALIVE AND CLASSIC STEVE...FEW TUNES REMIND ME OF THE DREAM SYNDICATE DAYS WITH JASON'S FEEDBACK AND FADES, DAVES HIGH BASS-LINE PLUCKS AND LINDA'S GREAT THUMPS AND TAPS..
THIS IS A GREAT ONE BY THESE FOLKS, WHO ARE STILL JUST TEARING IT DOWN AND MAKING B-LINES STRAIGHT TO THE SENSES. SO, IN CONCLUSION...BUY THIS! IT WILL MAKE YOU STRONG.. YOU CAN ORDER FROM THEIR WEBSITE.. |
