Buying Ticket to Ride without the expansion, while still a complete game, really misses out on the full potential. First of all, the 1910 expansion provides much larger color cards, which are vastly easier to handle than the originals. It also adds more ticket cards that weren't in the original set. Trains are the same, the board is unchanged, but having 1910 with feels more complete.

this is a fine example of a great, lasting, enjoyable game. We (myself and my wife) take this with us to friends houses and home to visit family all the time and it is always a good time to play. We are in our mid 20's and we enjoy it. true, it is deceptively easy. but this makes for better play value once you develop personal strategy. I recommend getting this with the expansion. there are more cards and they are bigger and easier to use. they also allow for variations of the game to be played. A little on the pricey end, but the play value and quality of the game make it a good game to invest your hard earned money on.
