Pure confectionery pop,
By Arney R (NH, CT USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tickets (Audio CD)
The Tickets are the best unknown pop band ever. This CD was produced from recorded but shelved remnants of their quality catalog, with a few extras (live cuts, alternate takes) thrown in for good measure. This is a thoroughly enjoyable package from Bryan Shaddix - whom Nick Lowe has called the best voice in pop music - and the then-current lineup. Too bad there are no further recordings, but what classic undiscovered act can't you say that about? Unfortunately, the music industry these days proves that adage: Doody floats. Too much quality has sunk in favor of American idles, so get this representation from Squeeze/Elvis Costello/Beatles/Jam genre artists while it's still available, and just maybe Bryan Shaddix will release his storehold of other power pop that's languishing in his collection.

Do you love power pop?,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Tickets (MP3 Download)
This will be short and to the point. If you love great power pop music influenced by the Beatles, Squeeze, etc., get this album. I could not believe when I saw this available for sale. I had the original cassette of this back in the day and to see this available again made my day. This is the first review I've written here on Amazon and all I can tell you is you won't be disappointed. Thanks.
