My one year old LOVES Tickle the Pig,
By
This review is from: Tickle the Pig (Pat the Bunny) (Touch-and-Feel) (Paperback)
My one year old absolutely loves "Tickle the Pig". He not only loves to sit on my lap as I read it, touching everything in sight; he will sit on the floor and play with it by himself longer than any other toy or book. He just doesn't get tired of that sweet little pig!

YAY! I Love Tickle the Pig!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Tickle the Pig (Pat the Bunny) (Touch-and-Feel) (Paperback)
I Love Tickle the Pig! I like how Pat the Bunny makes a reappearance in this book! Pat the Bunny comes to life again, and makes hot cocoa! Not only that, but I like cute Tickle the Pig--the material is so fuzzy! I love it so much! I would reccomend this book after reading Pat the Bunny.

I purchased this book for my daughter. I assumed the book would be more sturdy, but it is more like a notebook with thin pages. My daughter is into ripping paper so this is a book she could easily destroy. The book is great though, lots of fun reading, playing peek-a-boo with the pages, and tickling the furry pig. A definite enjoy if she doesnt rip it to shreds.

My 13 month old loves Pat the Bunny. She seems to know what's next before we even turn the page. I got this book as a follow up to have something else to read. It's great, but not as good. I'd make sure you get Pat the Bunny before you get this. The Scratch and sniff isn't as good, the butterfly isn't great for little ones who want to touch everything. Mine is falling apart as she grabs for it. Overall it's great, but when you're comparing to a Perfect 10 it falls a little short.

My grandson loves these Touch-and-Feel books. I have bought most of them for him and he, and his parents, enjoy them immensely!

Tickle the pig is truly a cute, and soft pig:) My little one had so much fun tickling him, following him on his journey, and this is a fun to read, and engaging touch-and-feel book.

It's no "Pat the Bunny",

This review is from: Tickle the Pig (Pat the Bunny) (Touch-and-Feel) (Paperback)
Horrible book. I wouldn't pay 50 cents at a garage sale for it. We were expecting another Pat the Bunny, which my daughter reads 20 times a day. This book is pathetic in it's attempts at interaction, and only offers a few pages of fuzzy creatures to touch and a door to open. Totally useless.

THE WORST KIDS BOOK EVER,
By
This review is from: Tickle the Pig (Pat the Bunny) (Touch-and-Feel) (Paperback)
I have a two-year-old daughter, and every night I read to her. She likes Dr. Seuss, Eric Carle, Francois Crozat, and she really likes the original "Pat the Bunny," by Dorothy Kunhardt.
Knowing that, I bought her this one, "Tickle the Pig," thinking she might enjoy it as well. It was wrapped in plastic, so I couldn't confirm that it was worth it before buying it, but we paid for it, took it home, and discovered that it Absolutely Sucked. Without any reservations, I can say that I think this is among the worst kids books I have ever read. Ever. Including "The Tiny Dot". Including "A Pocket for Corduroy". Including that creepy Dick Van Dyke Christmas one. Dorothy Kunhardt's sister Edith rips off one of Dorothy's books, and turns it into little more than an inane touch-and-feel book. Where "Pat the Bunny" had rings to try on, mirrors to look into, meta-books to read, flowers to smell, flaps to lift, and so on, this one pretty much just has bits of fabric to feel, like any other of the thousand touch-and-feel books that every book packaging company and his brother craps out. Oh, and it also has a handful of flaps to pull and flaps to push in that your small child will likely not be able to do on their own. It has a lame story, disappointing art, and--this is the main point that needs to be made--it seems that kids don't even like it. My daughter was at first excited about it, but soon grew frustrated with its hard-to-use flaps and eventually got to where she would never choose it read if she could choose anything else. Her friends weren't interested in it, and I, for sure, didn't suggest it to her to read at bedtime. Please, anything but that... This book is a prime example of greed over art, of a lust for money over a desire for quality. This book defines misbegotten. It is an abomination, a wasted use of young brainspace, and I'm happy to say that my daughter never seems to have missed it since I traded it for something better. |
