Nice Classic Hawaiian Music,

Great CD! Very nice classic Hawaiian music. Where did they find this great classic stuff? 20 of the 22 tunes fall into the 1929-1939 time slot with two nice 1954 Tau Moe tunes thrown in. Extensive liner notes on all the artists. Two VERY minor criticisms/comments: The volume level on a couple of the tunes seems too high and causes minor distortion. 1930s recordings what should I expect? Second, a mistake in the liner notes, one song omitted and an extra song not on the CD listed. This is a nice classic Hawaiian music CD, I thoroughly enjoy it.

Wonderful collection of vintage Hawaiian gems,

Although all of the Interstate label's Hawaiian oldies disc have tons of fun material on them, this one and "On A Coconut Island" are the two best. Indeed, they are two of the best albums of vintage Hawaiian music that you can find, anywhere. Each has a treasure trove of "hapa haole" pop-novelty tunes and wild, wonderful fancy guitar work. This disc is packed with one fun, memorable song after another, in a wide variety of styles and sounds. Great stuff... highly recommended! (DJ Joe Sixpack, Slipcue Music Reviews)
