The finish contains Microban anti-microbial protection to inhibit the growth of odor and stain causing bacteria on the pencil. My 7th grade daughter first told me about these after a teacher gave her one. SHe said she really likes it because it is smooth writing and the point is not always breaking. I tried hers and love it;; I am a cpa and office product afficionado so I plan to be using these in my business!1
