I bought this laundry bag the later part of 2009 out of desperation. Living in NYC and having to lug laundry up and down 3 flights of steps in a laundry bad and shopping cart was beginning to be too much for me. So I went online in search of a backpack laundry bag and I came across the Tide Backpack Laundry Duffle Bag and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!! I can't understand why Amazon no longer carries this product because its such a good bag. I also think that maybe this product should be marketed more so to college students.....just a suggestion. But I highly recommend this bag to any and everyone that's looking for a hands free way to carry your laundry back and forth to the laundromat.

I got this because I have to carry laundry up and down 3 flights of stairs. For the price, it does a good job, and hasn't fallen apart like others (from Target, for example) that I've gotten. The straps are good and don't cut into my shoulders; other one-strapped bags make walking difficult if you're going long distances, so the backpack style of bag is perfect.
The only thing that's bad about this is that the drawstring closure is not strong, and so does not stay in place when there is laundry in the bag (it opens up and laundry can fall out). To fix this, I tie the drawstring around one of the other straps. Also, unless you have very small bottles of detergent, two of the side compartments are useless (as in, not much bigger than a 20 oz. pop bottle). There is a third compartment with Velcro on the side for quarters and other small things.

Yes, I'd recommend it for it's purpose.. $12 is perfectly fine. Vinyl I think. I purchased it to use it for more than just laundry if it were strong enough to carry 20 lbs or more. It is. Costruction is strong. It came immediatly. The straps are comfortable enough, but I'm widening the straps across the back so it will be easy to take on and off. Too tight in that regard. The color is a muddled offish-white to not show stains. I'm actually purchasing more to customize for simple gifts to use for multitasking.

This laundry bag is durable and convenient. One thing I can't stand is dragging a laundry bag by hand to the laundromat. The backpack straps free up your hands so you can carry detergent, bleach & other laundry related items. I had a laundry bag with straps on it before & it fell apart. I can tell that this laundry bag is much more durable. This is a superior product, and I highly recommend it if you are in the market for a new laundry bag.

I purchased one of these 2 years ago. I was having foot/ankle surgery and knew I wouldn't be able to carry a heavy laundry basket up and down stairs with crutches, I thought this might work to get that heavy laundry where I needed it to be. Guess what?? It worked and I still use it, I love it. I am buying another one for my stepmom as she is in poor health and I believe this might help her keep her independence a little longer. This is truely a GREAT idea.

This is just perfect! Easy to carry. It fits only ONE LOAD though. Washable, too. Doesn't seem flimsy. Made of nice strong material.

I now live in NYC so in-building laundry is a distant possibility and in-room is a dream. Those awkward trips to the laundromat with a bag of laundry over my shoulder like some hobo-Santa are now gone (for the most part...there are times when I wait too long and need a second sack). The bag is super comfortable and so far pretty durable. I'm always sure to be delicate picking it up and putting it down since I pack it to the brim and don't want the straps and ties to break. It can hold around 2-3 weeks worth of dirty clothes which for me is quite a bit. My only problem is that the small pouch pockets on either side are so small that I havent found a good use for them. Maybe that's where you can keep your quarters and if I'm reading a small book it might fit there. Otherwise they serve no purpose. A carabiner for detergent would be a nice touch. The overall design is nice and the materials are very sturdy. I've even gotten a compliment on it at the laundromat from a lady who said she'd "never seen a laundry bag like that before). Over all, cheaper than a collapsable push cart and more useful (for moving and trips).

I'm a college student, but I'm at home. This bag is a great idea. It's a lot easier than lugging around a plastic basket or an unwieldy bag (especially when it is full of towels).
It's almost fun to do laundry. The pockets on the side appear to be made to hold things. I'd use it for books. I've never seen detergent, fabric softener, or bleaching product that comes in a small enough bottle to even begin to fit into the pockets. I thought about putting dryer sheets in there but it would be such a tight fit that I think the dryer sheets would end up just airing out and becoming useless as the box became more and more crushed. I don't really think those pockets are for anything besides maybe some reading material or perhaps some clothing you want to separate. Maybe travel size detergent or samples.

This is the best thing to happen to laundry. It is so much easier then having to carry an awkward basket to and from and back and forth. It fits a lot of clothes, and it has breathability so your clothes won't smell any worse than they did when they were dirty. :)
I give this product 5 stars and highly recommend it! Thanks!! |
