More About the Author

Robert A. Cozzi was raised in Westfield, New Jersey in a loving Irish-Italian family that spent summer vacations along the Atlantic Ocean, frolicking in the surf, chasing seagulls and eating salt water taffy. Educated at James Madison University and New York University, Robert has maintained a daily journal since he was in the ninth grade, where a favored teacher, Mr. Kocum encouraged his writing. In addition to his journal, he listens to Stevie Nicks and produces short stories, poetry and prose.

Robert's passion to set words onto paper is so strong that it dominates his free time from his daily position in hotel management. Each Saturday morning, he reads to children between the ages of seven and thirteen. This began in a hospital setting decades ago, and continues at a local library today. Many years ago, through the inspiration of a fellow poet, Gerard Yatcilla, Robert has been preparing a fresh work which he shares each Sunday morning with his followers via the Internet. His followers are all over the globe... From England and many parts of Europe to Australia and the entire continental States. His mother, Claire Bride Cozzi, also a writer, has inspired and guided his works, and assists with editing.

"Tide Pool of Words" is his debut book of poetry, with four additional books in the publishing works at this time. Robert can be reached at RobertCozziWriter@gmail.com or https://www.Facebook.com/RobertACozziAuthor.

There were also times when I was reading them that I could hear the ocean, smell the salt, feel the chill in the air and taste my own memories of sea and sun.

Rob's poetry evokes beautiful imagry, as poems should. There were also times when I was reading them that I could hear the ocean, smell the salt, feel the chill in the air and taste my own memories of sea and sun. Rob's words brought me back to the Jersey Shore with the vivid pictures they created in my mind. What a lovely trip I had this weekend, without leaving home.

As I was reading the words on each page, I felt as if I was sitting with Robert whether it was at this kitchen table, on a porch or a beach. The words were truly written from his heart and when you read these words, you can feel what Robert was feeling as he put his feelings on paper.

I downloaded Robert's book on my Kindle App and from start to finish I was very impressed. As a writer and musician, one of the first things I noticed was his ability to write without being stuck to traditional modes of prose and pentameter. He allowed his emotions and feelings to dictate the flow of the writing in a way that made it very relatable. I particularly enjoyed A Hundred Thousand Pieces of Sea Glass and Jersey Strong. I connected with the message and the flow. Well done!

In just a few pages, Robert's words magically transport you to the shore and to days gone by, lost loves and the promise of hope for days ahead. Each writing evokes a surprising emotion in the reader. You'll want to pick it up again and again.

I picked up Robert's book while on vacation in Hilton Head Island. As I sat on the beach reading each poem, I was transported back to my teenage years and trips to the Jersey shore. Summer relationships, laughter and sand, the parties on the beach and the tears shed when the season came to an end. The words tugged at my emotions and reminded me of a simpler time when the summer meant everything. Ah to be 15 again...at least I was there for a few hours one hot sunny afternoon this past August.

Reading Robert's beautiful collection of poetry and prose immediately brings the reader along for a beautiful journey through the seasons. Seasons of nature, love, reflection and personal experiences of the human spirit. What a perfect way to spend the afternoon (seaside, fireside or rocking on the front porch) being swept away by the delightful imagery into your own personal memories and dreams...
