this litter is great. i have a cat and a ferret so i'm constantly battling litter odor. i just switched from fresh step cat litter because i was unhappy with the way it formed the clumps. before, when i would empty the litter boxes, the clumps were wet and extremely sticky and all around nasty. with this litter, the clumps are dry, not sticky, and very easy to remove. i use the tidy cats power blend and mix it with baking soda so my pet odors are virtually eliminated. great product!

FYI!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT THINKING THAT YOU ARE GETTING WHAT IS PICTURED! THE PICTURE IS A LIE. YOU END UP WITH VERY LITTLE CRYSTAL MIXED WITH THE CLUMPING CLAY THAT YOU HATE (I KNOW YOU HATE IT BECAUSE THAT IS WHY PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND I GO FOR THE CRYSTAL LITTER).

A few months ago, I decided to do my own independent testing of major clumping litters in search of one that would work best for my cats.

Methodology:
2 cats
4 litter boxes
1 month with daily scooping.

Products tested (avg 20lbs per litter box):
Tidy Cats Power Blend
Tidy Cats Instant Action
Arm and Hammer Super Scoop, Fresh Clean Scent
Scoop Away Fresh Scent

Results:
Scoop Away won hands down at clumping even after a month. Where the others would eventually start to break apart into small pieces, Scoop Away, as the box describes, "clumps tight" and rarely did so. However, it loses a point for being dusty out of the box and its obnoxious perfumey smell. I could always tell when one of my cats had been to the little box. The perfume would waft behind them. Though, I suppose that was better than the alternative.

Tidy Cats, my staple for years, had the least obtrusive odor and was the least dusty from the start. However it, never clumped as tightly as the others. After about a week and a half, the resulting clumps broke apart easily. The Power Blend (aka Premium Scoop) was a huge disappointment. It didn't perform anywhere near as well as the Instant Action (aka plain old Scoop). Its clumps started to break apart within days. Although not a part of this test, I've noticed in the past that Tidy Cats Small Spaces, another "Premium Scoop" also never performed as well the regular scoop.

Arm & Hammer clumped well, but was perfumey and very dusty the entire time.

Cats' opinion:
None. They didn't seem to favor one over the other.

This stuff is amazing! It was a little bit expensive but the 8lb container said that it lasted a month. My kitty seems to fly through litter (I hate stinky litter) - so I picked this kind up. I can't say enough good things about it. The pee gets absorbed into the crystals - no smell and no need to scoop! The crystals change color - I think it will eventually show that it needs to be changed (it has been 2 weeks and it hasn't smelled yet).

What I didn't expect was that there is practically no tracking. My kitty was horrible about it. I have a small apartment so his litter box is in the bathroom. I would have to tell people to wait to use the bathroom until I had a chance to sweep it all up. Not anymore!!! This stuff doesn't get stuck between his little toes so it doesn't get tracked around - in the 2 weeks we have had it there I have found only 5 or 6 tiny little crystals in his track mat and no where else.

I will never buy any other kind of litter again! Previously I really liked the Tidy Cat Small Spaces, but now it doesn't even compare to this. I'm so glad that I took the chance!

I used tidy cats for multi cats that says 24/7 (yellow/red label). It was okay but did NOT contain urine odor at all. I saw this and have been using for a couple weeks now. I don't even have to use an air freshener in the area any longer. It clumps very solid. Can't comment on the tracking just yet cause I need to vacuum lol.

My tub of kitty litter did not state if it was scented. Unfortunately when I opened it - it was so - I figured I'd give it a shot and well .... this litter is great if you don't mind your house smelling like cat pee + litter.

I have a brand new Litter Robot that I empty every other day and a 4 month old kitten. I'm pretty lax about my litter standards - it just needs to keep the poo/pee smell in for 48 - 72 hours, not stink up my house, and not coat my house in a layer of dust. After a week there was litter everywhere, my cat smelled like the litter, and I couldn't get over the combined smell of cat waste + the scent of this litter.

It took me a week to de-funk my LR. It took me multiple applications of Zeolite, Nature's Miracle and trips to the Carwash. It was a disappointing experience.

This is NOT what it says it is- i bought this because i thought it would be silica and its just regular cat litter with crystals mixed in. not worth the price at all

My kitty was separated from his mom at an early age. He does not know how to cover his "stuff" so it smells really bad. I saw this and thought it was different and it says "locks in odor" and its more expensive than regular litter. WASTE OF MONEY. DOES NOT DO ANYTHING. And when he pee's this does not clump so I have to change it more often. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!

Everything was very good with the product and the shippment but I made a mistake and it was not what I needed. I am using it but will change the product for the other one, next time.
