Cleverly written, February 27, 1999

Definetly an album you'll listen to again & again. Catchy lyrics that you'll sing along with the second time you listen. Keep it on the shelf next to the likes of, Alanis Morisette, Fiona Apple, Shawn Colvin, Carole King, & Tracy Chapman.

Powerful and emotive, I needed time to recover., February 8, 1999

This review is from: Tied (Audio CD)
This is one of the best records I've heard in a very long time. I say record because it speaks the was vinyl used to, a musical story. The music is provocative and sensitive, some folk and some groove rock. The players are eceptional and the production is top of the line. The lyrics are beautiful creating a tapestry of emotions that touch several places in my mind and heart. I can't believe Kaydi Johnson is not all over the place. There is something wrong in the business if she is not discovered. However, thanks to places like this we can discover great artists all on our own. Please make more records.

Kaydi is powerful, seductive and poetic!, February 2, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Tied (Audio CD)
To write poetry is a calling. To write really moving poetry is a gift. To make this poetry come alive with music is nothing short of magic. "Tied", the debut CD by Kaydi Johnson manifests this magic in an exceptional blend of rock, folk and country. This album is captivating, reeling you into a web of fantasy, tears, hopes and the landscape of dreams. I am absolutely touched by these words and moved by this music. These songs are stories about childhood and growing up, living and loving, Falling in the shadows and dancing strongly towards the sunlight. Kaydi's perception of life is real and intuitive, inspired and lyrical. Many of the songs have a haunting quality, while others ironic, and uplifting. Simply put, "Tied" is a treasure and Kaydi is a weaver of magic spells!

The most exciting new breakthrough artist of the year, January 31, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Tied (Audio CD)
Kaydi Johnson is one of the most exciting and innovative new artists of the year. Her work is soothing, exciting but yet familiar. She finds a place in ones soul that only a handful of artists can reach. I enjoyed listening to her cd the first time I heard it, and since then have never tired of it. Best of luck. Looking forward to hearing more of you. Is it true you will be performing at St.John The Divine on Palm Sunday? Please keep your new fans informed.
