4.0 out of 5 stars Useful piece of plastic
Yes, this is a tasteful replacement for a tie clip. But ultimately it is only a cleverly designed piece of plastic, that I received in the mail taped to a sheet of paper. There is no reason that it should be sent as certified mail; I had to make a special trip to the post office to pick it up. Ordinary first-class mailing will do, and is good reason that the distributor...

2.0 out of 5 stars Extremely awkward when you bow/bend your posture
OK it works as it is advertised, BUT (A HUGE BUT) when you, for instance, sit on your chair and bow/bend while you are writing something or simply looking at your computer, your tie will appear cracked from the point where you attach this thing. Believe me, its extremely awkward. The reason I gave 2 stars is because it does what it says, only when your posture is almost...

I love these tie downs. I use them everyday and feel lost without them. They're very strong. My one has lasted me for 5 months. Thanks.

5.0 out of 5 stars These work great., January 26, 2008
This review is from: Tiedown, the Alternative to Tie Tacks and Tie Bars (Apparel)
These tiedowns work great, are completely invisible when worn, and are just fantastic. One great thing about them is that you can unbutton your top button and loosen your tie a bit, say after work, and the nature of the tiedown lets the tie loosen without binding as it would with a tie tack. The plastic ones are fairly indestructible and last forever.

Believe me, its extremely awkward. The reason I gave 2 stars is because it does what it says, only when your posture is almost 90 degrees straight, which is something quite impossible to maintain all day long.

Also considering what you pay for the shipping, it is better you don't buy it.

I love the idea but the product does not hold up..... the plastic broke after a couple of uses.... I am going to come up with a modified version using items from my local craft store....

4.0 out of 5 stars Expensive but it works, January 13, 2008
This review is from: Tiedown, the Alternative to Tie Tacks and Tie Bars (Apparel)
I gave these tiedowns to my husband for Christmas and he has been wearing them everyday since. I will admit that they are very expensive for a piece of plastic with slits in it but we really do like the product! I think the company should charge less for shipping....it just comes attached to a piece of paper in a regular envelope.

I have been looking for this kind of tie tack for a very long time becasue it is great. I helps you keep your tie down while still being able to see the whole tie.

Completely solves the problem of how to secure my tie without jewelry. Seems to be indestructable and always fits. Glad I found them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product, January 10, 2008

This product is amazing, hold the tie correctly and doesnt damages it. Maybe you prefer a shiny tie holder that adds to your looks, but I prefer this one because is stays in place and doesnt make a hole to the tie... and just look at the price, you can buy 3 or 4 to give to a budy because the shipping is more expensive than the product :p... a must buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!, December 12, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Absolutely amazing product. I know it seems so simple, almost "cheap," but it is anything but. The pictures here do not do it justice. When used, it, literally, is invisible. It is also vastly more sturdy than I thought it would be. While I do not wear a tie daily, I do from time-to-time during the cooler times of the year when I wear my long-sleeve uniform shirt (I'm a correctional officer at a prison), and while ties are not required, I always wear one with that particular uniform. Due to the nature of the job, I am moving all day, including bending, squatting, and other job-related functions. This had always been an issue for me. A few wear tie bars and such, but even those move around, and could, if needs be, be used as a weapon. I have been wearing the tiedown for awhile now, and the tie stays perfectly straight no matter what I am doing.

I know most people will be wearing it in a different setting than I am, but the fact that it works so well where I am, should show others that it would be perfect for normal wear any other time a tie is required or wanted.

Great, great item.
