5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful!
I bought these for my boyfriend, who is not one for tie pins, and his tie can look untidy as a result (not to mention the problem of food and a freely swinging tie). These have been a great help. His tie stays in place, the tiedown stays in place. They're comfortable, reliable and easy to use, and he's thrilled with them. He wears them every day now.

3.0 out of 5 stars Tie Placement is Key Here
This product is such a great idea. The only issue I have with it is the fact that in order for this product to work correctly, you have to make sure the tie tag falls perfectly in the middle between two of your shirt buttons. If the tag is too close to the top or bottom button, this plastic tiedown will either pull your tie too tight at your neck as you move around, or...

This product is such a great idea. The only issue I have with it is the fact that in order for this product to work correctly, you have to make sure the tie tag falls perfectly in the middle between two of your shirt buttons. If the tag is too close to the top or bottom button, this plastic tiedown will either pull your tie too tight at your neck as you move around, or cause your tie to crumple a the mid-section of your shirt when you sit. Tie pins, although a death blow to a good silk tie, usually have a chain that is long enough to allow for this type of tie movement and still keep the tie in place. These plastic tiedowns don't allow for the same amount of latitude. In any case, I continue to use them, as I hate destroying my ties with pins and can't ever seem to keep a clip in place. This item is RECOMMENDED.

For the cost--I thought--might as well try this gadget--there's no real financial investment, so if it looks or behaves goofy, i'll just toss it in the trash. So, my husband buttons one end of the Tiedown, slides the Tiedown through the necktie's nametag (with the shorter necktie end tucked in also) and buttons the Tiedown at the other end. I would've bet money on the fact that you could see the edges of this 'cheap' tie holder or that the tie just wouldn't lie right.

Well, I was right. The tie crumpled all up and looked goofy--until we moved the Tiedown down one button. Then I had my husband stand up straight, lean forward, lean from side to side......... OMG.... I could not see the Tiedown at all, and the tie was completely well-behaved! We were thrilled with this new gadget! Hubby has worn it for a week--and has not heard one comment from colleagues about the 'unusual' tie holder. Because no one can see it!

I do have one suggestion though--they should be sold in packs of three or five--that way if one gets broken by the kids, chewed up by the dog, or lost by dear hubby, then you'll have extras on hand. So, in the meantime, buy a few when you order! (Now available!! The following value packs!) *** Tiedown Value Pack - 10 Plastic *** Tiedown Value Pack - 5 Plastic *** Tiedown Sample Pack - 3 Plastic, 2, Leather, 1 Great Price ***

This is a product that will eventually be sold in high quality retail shops--get them while they're still so CHEAP, because once the designers get a hold of them, stamp their name on 'em and then crank the price up--you'll think you're buying a slice of gold instead of plastic or leather!! Trust me, I'm stocking up NOW!

Buy 'em. You'll love 'em. Tiedown, the Alternative to Tie Tacks and Tie Bars

(UPDATE March 2008)
********* Hubby has been alternating TWO Tiedowns for over a year now--although we have extras--and these two Tiedowns are still in great shape! We continue to be impressed with the simplicity and efficiency of this product! Kudos *********

Simple solution to common problem. Wear them daily. I did have a few that split too easily, but if you glue two together, it'll help solve that problem. Great deal for the price, even if a few split.

These little gizmoes work very well. They not only keep your tie out of the soup at the salad bar, but they make your ties last longer by not punching holes in them with tie tacks. This is the third time I've ordered some. If I had any complaints, it would be they are easy to lose and they will wear out eventually. Ten of them last me about a year, but someone more organized should be able to make them last a lot longer. Also, they seem pricey, but I guess the idea, the effort in making them, and shipping them is most of what you're paying for - not the cost of the raw materials. Everytime I've shown them to people, they want them too.

I used these for a dance number. When the kids would dance, the ties were flying all around. The tiedowns kept them in place without any problems.

My hubby absolutely loves these tiedowns!! He had been using a safety pin everyday for years and can't believe how much easier this is and how nice it looks.

These very simple little tie holders are amazing. They really hold your tie in place and are very easy to use. I love them. And I will always use them. It doesn't get ant easier then these little plastic dog bones. Awesome.

These little inventions are the greatest tie management tool ever!! I have been using them for several months and have given many away as token gifts in birthday cards and just handing them out to friends. I can't say enough good things about them. Plus, they are only a buck-fifty apiece and seem to last forever.

This is a great product which I use whenever I must wear a time for work. I must occasionally work with conveyor belts and trash compactors, so it is very important to keep my tie close to my body to avoid getting caught by the heavy machinery. This does the job nicely and cost-effectively, without making holes or adding weight to my chest. And I don't like wearing jewelry, which I consider tie pins and tie bars to be. This holds my tie down without anyone seeing it. I only wish it wasn't so easy for my to lose these things.
