First tie your necktie, then take a look at where the horizontal tie tag on the back of your tie lies against the front of your shirt. 99.9% of the time the tie tag is between two of the buttons on the front of your shirt. You want to fasten the Tiedown between those same two buttons, start by putting the top button through the button hole on the Tiedown, then thread the Tiedown through the horizontal tie-tag on the back of your tie. Finish by fastening the bottom button hole of the Tiedown onto the lower button on the front of your shirt. Now your necktie is securely held flush against the front of your shirt. I thought I would give these a shot. Other than getting my tie the right length so that the loop in the back sits between buttons I have been pleased. Several of the guys in my office have looked into purchasing them now.

I bought these for my husband simply because he doesn't like all the flash from tie clips or the holes from the pins. He absolutely loves them! He says they have worked perfectly from the first time he tried them, so I am not sure what some of the complaints in previous reviews were...possibly different shirt deminsions or torso sizes? Anyway, his line up perfectly. Between making my husband happy with wearing a tie and the price of these items, I am not complaining!

I used to use tacs before I found these and now no more puncture wounds for my ties. very durable and easy to use. You do need to find the right medium of the shirt to place this ifb you want it to look right. For me it was usually just the button at the bottom of the sternum and the one below that. If you place them on the wrong buttons it is an easy adjustment. If you wear these often you will remember what buttons to use.
