I have used several of these track lighting kits and have never had a problem. The other reviewer who gave a 1 star did not follow the directions. You can't bend the metal rails when they are connected by the plastic connector. Last time I checked metal is stronger than plastic. I sometimes wonder about people.

What you have to do is custom bend each rail before connecting them with the plastic connectors. After that, the kit looks great, has a high end look, and adds value to your room. I added one to my kitchen and the kit gives off a really nice glow.

If you follow the directions, all will go well.

This is a very handsome track lighting kit, but I would not recommend it to anyone who is not experienced with home improvement/handyperson-type activities. J. Trawick is correct that if you follow the directions, things will (generally) go well (*provided* you know what you are doing) and it will look great. Unfortunately, Reality Check is also correct that much of the critical hardware (rail connectors, set screws, threaded caps on the standoff connectors) is so shoddy it should have been blocked at Customs, and an inexperienced installer will probably rue this purchase. For example, it is critical to keep the connections tight at many points, but the abysmal quality of the standoffs and connectors can make this a tedious undertaking. One of the sets I purchased worked perfectly as soon as I had it installed, but the second took a half hour of fiddling to get all the connections happy and all the lamps working, and I'm no novice when it comes to installing lighting fixtures. Poor quality hardware is a pet peeve of mine, and this lighting kit has some of the worst hardware I have seen in years in any product. Four stars for appearance, negative two stars for quality--call it two stars on balance.

I really like the look of the light but I've been fiddling with the connectors over the past 3 years. I've climbed a ladder at least 20 times tightening the connectors. It works fine for a while and then one section quits working. The connector finally broke and now I am searching for a replacement. Light looks good though when it all works.

The Tiella Rail system has unusually cheap hardware - the first attempt at bending the rail track will break the very cheap plastic connectors, thus ruining the whole system. This unit is not worth even a quarter of the cost.

This rail lighting is junk.....the rails do not seat correctly and I've burned thru one transformer already. Also, you need three hands to install it...the tiny little screws don't line up.

I have wasted so much time trying to make this worth and despite losing my investment of $300, I am going to rip it our and install something else.
