ANTONIO PINTO'S HAUNTING SOUNDTRACK,
By Philly Gal (Philadelphia, PA USA) - See all my reviews

This review is from: El Amor en los Tiempos del Cóler [Banda Sonora Original de la Película] (Audio CD)
Gabriel Garcia-Marquez is on our top bookshelf, and we are as enthralled with Pinto's music as with the book. The scores are haunting, dreamlike, perfectly befitting the Marquez story. This particular disc is an excellent Sony-BMG 2007 release from Argentina, and the album booklet has the Spanish lyrics and English translations for two of Shakira's songs, HAY, AMORES and DESPEDIDA, and gives the soundtracks' full credits. The movie itself is a satisfying reproduction of the Marquez novel, but it was the music and Shakira's singing that grabbed our attention like a claw. We assume that this import is identical to the Sony USA 2008 release, the only difference might be the dual-language album notes. As movie soundtracks go, this one is a keeper.
