Tiffany is amazing.

I only heard the first song, I think We're Alone Now and I loved it, so I got it.

The ballads are beautiful, Tiffany sounds very good in the slower songs.

Tiffany's biggest hit no doubt about it was "I Think We're Alone Now," but she is so much more than that one single. If you didn't follow her career after the first single you might want to check out this collection. "Radio Romance" and "Mr. Mambo" are upbeat songs that will give you that happy 80's feeling in an instant. "Feelings of Forever," and "Back in the Groove" are great ballads. I am pleased with this set and I think you will be too.

Listening to this album always makes me annoyed that Tiffany didn't become a bigger star than she did. She deserved so much more than being just a one hit wonder. I was couldn't have been more than four years old when Tiffany launched herself into the public eye in 1987, but I have a vague memory of watching her perfom "I Think We're Alone Now" on Top Of The Pops. But I discovered Tiffany late in life, when I got online in the late 1990s and searched for 80s music to add to my MP3 player's playlist. Eventually I bought this album, and I think it's the cutest, funniest, bouncy, retro, and most infectious CD in my collection. I listen to it often, especially when I tire of modern music with songs that are filled with graphic and endless references to sex, drugs and killing with unimaginative and repetitive lyrics and beats. The main reason I enjoy 80s-early 90s music was because, for the most part, it didn't take itself too seriously and was just simply nice and entertaining. As music should be.

Anyway, this album is a must have if you like the 80s pop sound. There's a good selection here, a perfect balance of upbeat funk and slushly ballads. The ballads are beautiful, Tiffany sounds very good in the slower songs. "All This Time", "Danny", "Could've Been", "Here In My Heart", "Feelings Of Forever", "Back In The Groove", and "Hold An Old Friends Hand"

are the slower numbers and they are all wonderful. Tiffany proves that she can hold a tune, and the lyrics are very pretty while keeping that simplicity that I love. "I Saw Him Standing There", "Radio Romance", "Mr Mambo" and the infamous song that made and broke her, "I Think We're Alone Now" are the faster tracks and I have no complaints here either. Even "Mr Mambo", while incredibly silly, is just flat out FUN.

This is a decent greatest hits package, but a bit disappointing if you know more about Tiffany's music. For one, "Back in the Groove Now" and "Mr. Mambo" are pretty poorly deserving of slots on this album. It might be hard to search for it as it was released only in Japan, but "All the Best" is an awesome greatest hits package with two great rarely heard Tiff tunes, including one she co-wrote. By the way, search "We Will Follow" on this site and you can find a great new Tiff cover of U2 called "New Years' Day." As for the disappointing Deb fan below, don't hate. If I must compare, I will say that Deb is good fun, but I do think Tiffany is more genuine and equipped with a lovelier voice. But I respect your right to disagree, of course.

Tiffany still records music and performs live, but she will always be remembered for the hits that she recorded in the late eighties. This compilation covers the period 1987 to 1990 and includes all her British and American hits from that period, as well as several singles that failed to chart and one track that wasn't released as an A side single.

The album opens with Tiffany's biggest hit, I think we're alone now, which was a cover of a sixties song by Tommy James and the Shondells. Tiffany's version became a number one hit on both sides of the Atlantic; the original version had been a huge hit (but not a number one) in America, yet failed to chart in ?Britain. Tiffany's other American number one hit, Could've been, became a top five hit in Britain . Her gender-adapted cover of a Beatles song, I saw him standing there, became a top ten hit on both sides of the Atlantic. All those tracks originally appeared on Tiffany's eponymous debut album, together with Danny (her debut single that failed to chart) and Feelings of forever (a minor hit on both sides of the Atlantic). Both of those tracks are included here.

Tiffany's second album (Hold an old friend's heart) sold well enough without matching the success of its predecessor, but its singles were noticeably less successful. The first single from the album, All this time was a top ten hit in America and a minor hit in Britain. The follow-up, Radio romance, was a top twenty hit in Britain and a minor hit in America. It was to be Tiffany's last hit in the main pop charts in either country.

The music is in some ways typical pop music of the era, but while I don't like everything from that period by any means, I find this compilation very appealing.

Right along with NKOTB and Debbie Giobson, Tiffany dominated the late 80's with pleasent teen pop tunes. Although her fame only lasted about 2 years, she still managed a lot in that time period. Tiffany's debut album went 4x platinum *quite an accomplishment back then* and yielded two #1 singles. "I Think We're Alone Now" *the remake of the 60's pop tune* was just about perfect and Tiffany sounded great on it. "Could've Been" was the other #1 and I rank it as one of the best ballads of the 80's. Tiffany pulls it off wonderfully. She also pulled off another top 10 hit from her debut "I Saw Him Standing There" which is also represented on here along with a minor hit "Feelings of Forever." Then in 1988, Tiffany released her sophomore album "Hold An Old Friend's Hand." The album wasn't as successful as her debut, but it was by no means a flop. It went platinum and gave Tiffany the top 10 hit "All This Time" which is right up there with "Could've Been." "Radio Romance" was also a hit cracking the top 40.
It may not be right calling this a "Greatest Hits" seeing as how many of the songs were never hits, but even the non-hits are fairly good. "Danny" is a nice piece of ear candy and so is "Hold An Old Friend's Hand." They both fit in well with the distinguished singles. Although Tiffany didn't have the hits like other teen pop acts such as Debbie Gibson or the Backstreet Boys or even NKOTB, but she still had an incredible voice and this collection shows that she really was talented for her age.
