Product Description

Size: 58mm

Manufacturer Description

The Tiffen 58mm Digital Enhancing lens filter kit combines four essential digital imaging lens filters to cover just about all shooting situations most photographers will encounter, from portraits to foliage to shooting through glass or glaring sunlight.

Film and video are more sensitive to UV light than our eyes are. This often shows up as a bluish cast in images, especially shots from high altitudes and long distances, praticularly over water. The ultraviolet protector provides basic reduction of UV light.

The Tiffen digital enhancing filter makes red, rust browns, and oranges "pop," with minial effect on other colors. Perfect for fall foliage, earthtone rock formations, architecture, woodwork, faded rustic barns, and any photos where red, brown, and orange subjects should be enriched or appear more intense.

The circular polarizer has the same effect as a polarizer and is used on cameras with beam splitting metering systems commonly found on auto focus SLRs. Use the Tiffen polarizer with the enhancing filter for more dramatic effects.

The 812 warming filter, a Tiffen exclusive, improves skin tones and is ideal for portraits taken on a cloudy day or outdoor, in shade on a sunny day.

Product Description

Protect your camera lens from ultraviolet light while boosting your artistic possibilities with the Tiffen Digital Enhancing filter kit. The kit--which includes an ultraviolet filter, digital enhancing filter, circular polarizer, and color-warming filter--is an ideal accessory for cameras with 58mmfilter threads. The ultraviolet filter prevents UV light from reaching the lens, helping increase clarity and reduce haze. As a result, your photos look crystal clear even in mountainous and coastal areas, where ultraviolet light is particularly strong. The digital enhancing filter, meanwhile, makes reds, rust browns, and oranges "pop" in the image without affecting the other colors. The filter is perfect for fall foliage, earthtone rock formations, architecture, woodwork, faded rustic barns, and any other photos in which red, brown, and orange subjects should be enriched or appear more intense. Photographers will also appreciate the circular polarizer, which deepens the intensity of blue skies and reduces or eliminates glare. (Note that the circular polarizer is designed expressly for autofocus cameras.) Finally, the kit offers an exclusive color-warming filter that improves the color of all skin tones. Ideal for portraits, the color-warming filter absorbs the blue cast often caused by electronic flashes or outdoor shade, adding warmth to pale, washed-out flesh tones. Combine all the filters together and you have enough filters to cover just about every shooting situation, from portraits to foliage to shooting through glass.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid product, great customer service, February 2, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These lenses are solid, really well crafted. I was hesitant to purchase due to the low price, but I saw them for almost 190 pounds in the UK so I thought I would go ahead and give it a shot (only $60 here on Amazon). Glad I did. I was really surprised at the build quality of these filters. The video I have shot with the different filters looks awesome, and to top it off you can combine multiple filters to get different feels.

One interesting note; I noticed that one of my filters was a 46mm filter and not 43mm like the rest of the set. I contacted the seller who was very willing to replace the set, but I would have to send the whole set back and not be able to play with the other three filters. So I decided to try to contact Tiffen directly. I was very pleased that I got a live person who listened to me and took my info. I half expected not to be called back, but again I was pleasantly surprised to get a call back with some awesome news: they were shipping me out a replacement lens right away! I will be purchasing more Tiffen filters/lenses, quality backed by excellent service.

Give these filters a try, you won't be disappointed.
