I use these shoes only for practicing Tai Chi, and they're wonderful for that purpose. I used the conversion chart provided when ordering the shoes, and upon arrival they fit perfectly. The soles provide good traction and are flat enough that I can confidently practice foot movements without the distraction of a large, heavy sole. I wouldn't use these shoes for walking over rough terrain or jogging. There are many better shoes made for that. However, for the practicioner, give these a try. For the price, they can't br beat, and they were delivered well before the promised date.

I got these not for Kung Fu, but for minimalist running. I wanted something cheaper to transition from barefoot running, and to test the waters of minimalist footwear before investing in something more expensive. They were really good for this purpose, but are already starting to show some signs of wear. If you are looking for a traditional running shoe, offering support and cushioning, these offer none, because they aren't meant to, but I found them to be excellent for minimalist running.

The shoes are made of a nice canvas upper with a sole made of very soft rubber.

They're very lightweight and flexible, making them ideal and comfortable for minimalist running. The sole is very grippy, but you still get a lot of groundfeel. Since the sole is made of soft rubber you get a lot of grip, but they also pick up a lot of dirt. The downside is that they seem to wear out fairly quickly, especially if you are running on hot pavement.

My only other complaint is an aesthetic one. While the upper itself is very nice canvas, the decal on the side is painted on, and doesn't show up very well on the black canvas, perhaps it would look nicer if they had another coat. It wouldn't be such an issue if the logo wasn't so prominent on the side.

Eventually, I ended up trading up to the Merrell Barefoot shoe: Men's Merrell Barefoot Tough Glove Which so far, I'm very satisfied with.

Disclaimer: If you are new to barefoot and minimalist running, please do your research before jumping in. The motion and biomechanics of minimalist running is completely different from walking and running in traditional shoes. Aim for a naturally shock-absorbing forefoot strike, and avoid striking the heel, as this can lead to bone and joint damage. Above all, take the transition slowly and listen to your body.

These shoes are working well for me. I practice Degerberg Blend. There are two areas where the shoes bother me (but just a bit).

The shoelace eyeholes can grate against my foot on the interior of the shoes, especially on roundhouse kicks. Be sure to cover the eyeholes with the canvas provided inside the shoes. Its very easy for these to become folded & not provide coverage.

Also the lack of laces or means of securing the shoe to the heel, as its just canvas around the heel. I often feel like they're going to fly off, although they never have.

These are minor comments to optimize the shoes, and not really necessary since they cost $15. They've worked well in numerous sessions, and I plan to continue wearing them.

Are you looking for a PK shoe?

What can I say? They feel very bouncy, good grip on many surfaces, great feel for railings, I like the style... Not suitable for heel-strikers, though, and you may have to learn to land with more control & silence. Which will only do you good.

The sole does disintegrate over time as the concrete and gravel etc eat away at it, but then that's because it's got awesome grip.

Price unbeatable. Wonder who glues these together...

This shoe is great, although it does come roughly packaged and smells of super strong chemicals, after i let it air out outside the house for a couple days they were all good. I am a U.S. shoe size 11, so, I ordered a size 11, but when they came in i thought they were a little too big at first, then i realized i wasn't wearing socks. As soon as i tried them on with socks, they became a perfect fit. These shoes are so light weight you feel like you're walking in socks. Plus, i think they're very stylish. I've used these shoes for about a month straight now, and have had not one problem with them.

I've been looking for a minimalist shoe that didn't cost a fortune, and these are awesome! The sole is super flexible and only about 1/4" thick. Super comfortable and I've actually gotten a few compliments on them, people thinking they were Italian shoes or something. I love Converse and thought these wouldn't replace them, but I haven't worn my converse since! I wear all the time, the only down side is they can slide on slick wet ground easily, like wet tile floors.

As for sizing, I usually wear a womens 10, so I ordered a 41. They fit a bit roomy, but that is what you want in a minimalist shoe, room for your toes to spread out.

These run a little bit small; when converting from U.S. size, order 1/2 size up. They're very comfortable and seem well made, for the price. I use them mostly in an indoor, padded floor training environment and they work well for that. Also nice for just casual weekend wear. With the recent trend towards minimalist sole, barefoot-type shoes, this is a good alternative to some of those $75-100 models from Merrell & others. I blacked out the letters on the side, with a Sharpie, for a plainer look.
