I use these shoes only for practicing Tai Chi, and they're wonderful for that purpose. I used the conversion chart provided when ordering the shoes, and upon arrival they fit perfectly. The soles provide good traction and are flat enough that I can confidently practice foot movements without the distraction of a large, heavy sole. I wouldn't use these shoes for walking over rough terrain or jogging. There are many better shoes made for that. However, for the practicioner, give these a try. For the price, they can't br beat, and they were delivered well before the promised date.

These shoes are working well for me. I practice Degerberg Blend. There are two areas where the shoes bother me (but just a bit).

The shoelace eyeholes can grate against my foot on the interior of the shoes, especially on roundhouse kicks. Be sure to cover the eyeholes with the canvas provided inside the shoes. Its very easy for these to become folded & not provide coverage.

Also the lack of laces or means of securing the shoe to the heel, as its just canvas around the heel. I often feel like they're going to fly off, although they never have.

These are minor comments to optimize the shoes, and not really necessary since they cost $15. They've worked well in numerous sessions, and I plan to continue wearing them.

This shoe is great, although it does come roughly packaged and smells of super strong chemicals, after i let it air out outside the house for a couple days they were all good. I am a U.S. shoe size 11, so, I ordered a size 11, but when they came in i thought they were a little too big at first, then i realized i wasn't wearing socks. As soon as i tried them on with socks, they became a perfect fit. These shoes are so light weight you feel like you're walking in socks. Plus, i think they're very stylish. I've used these shoes for about a month straight now, and have had not one problem with them.

These run a little bit small; when converting from U.S. size, order 1/2 size up. They're very comfortable and seem well made, for the price. I use them mostly in an indoor, padded floor training environment and they work well for that. Also nice for just casual weekend wear. With the recent trend towards minimalist sole, barefoot-type shoes, this is a good alternative to some of those $75-100 models from Merrell & others. I blacked out the letters on the side, with a Sharpie, for a plainer look.

For years I looked at these shoes and thought they were tacky. Then I reaqd an article about how they were worn at the olympic demonstrations and were now to be produced and sold for $65 in NYC. I immediately thought, "gee, I should try them while they are still cheap." I bought a pair for myself, my gf, her son and my son. I practice and teach taijiquan, I love these shoes for any outdoor practice that I do. They are so tacky looking that they are sort of cool, they wear well, and feel great to use. I even wear them casually now. For the price, they are the best shoe that a martial artist can buy. Who doesn't love a good shoe for $15. I am now collecting them in multiple colors.

Are you looking for a PK shoe?

What can I say? They feel very bouncy, good grip on many surfaces, great feel for railings, I like the style... Not suitable for heel-strikers, though, and you may have to learn to land with more control & silence. Which will only do you good.

The sole does disintegrate over time as the concrete and gravel etc eat away at it, but then that's because it's got awesome grip.

Price unbeatable. Wonder who glues these together...

The shoes seem very good for boxing or general gym usage. The only problem I have is the shoes sizes. I usually wear 10.5 - 11 size shoes (Nike and under armour) and I went to [...] to match my shoe size into American sizing: Size 45 = 11 US. However, when I did receive my shoes they were a bit big on me so I had to return them. I had to pay another $15 to UPS to exchange them for a size 44 - 10.5 US. I got the new shoes, but they were still a bit big on me to the point that I could easily slip my index finger in the back of the shoe even while I'm wearing socks and shoe inserts. The seller was very professional and responded quickly to my messages. I was disappointed the shoes weren't a perfect fit again. I'm not willing to pay another $16 for a second exchange. Maybe it's just me, but just make sure you get the right size.

Contrary to some customer reviews, these shoes DO NOT run small. I usually wear a 43, so I bought a 44 just to be safe; the shoes fit perfectly, and even have some extra room.

To address some other concerns raised in customer reviews:

- Yes, the shoes smell like rubber, but not overtly so and not more so than any other rubber product. There is no noxious smell.

- The shoes are canvas with a painted logo. For those expecting a Nike-style fancy plastic logo, you might indeed be disappointed. But I think canvas and paint look pretty cool, especially as these are functional shoes and not status symbols.

- The inside is canvas, very clean, without any insoles of the kind that rips out after limited use.

- The soles are sturdy and well glued. As advertised, they can be worn indoors or outdoors, but are probably best suited for a gym or a studio.

- Some customer complained about a narrow sole you have to balance on. There is some truth to this complaint, as the sole bows outward slightly. I think that, like with any shoe, the sole will wear down as the shoe breaks in, providing an individualized fit.

- The soles of these shoes are designed for traction. From midfoot to heel, the sole is ribbed for traction; from midfoot to toe, the ribs point backwards so that the wearer can slide forward but cannot be pushed back. If you are not looking for shoes with traction, or if your martial art requires a shoe that slides, then this might not be the shoe for you.

- If the shoe is a good fit, I do not see narrowness being a problem. My own feet are rather wide, yet there are no pressure points or restriction in my one-size-up shoes (44 instead of 43). If anything, they are rather roomy all around.
