Good training blocker
We use these at our dojo all the time. They are great for blocking. They have just enough padding to not hurt, but are easy to wield.

junk
This is a complete piece of junk. It has a cheap plastic handle and it also starts to bend in the middle after only minimal use.

I got these trainers a few years ago when my son began TKD lessons. While not indestructible they are serviceable and lasted quite sometime before they began to suffer from wear and tear. They are sufficiently padded such that high speed contact can be used without injury, even without added protection. Accordingly, the are useful to build up reflexes. The cost point and relative durability are such that I will be buying them again when my daughter begins karate lessons. We have gotten a great deal of use out of these and a good deal of fun beating the daylights out of each other with them.
