5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect getaway romance escapade
One os Sandra Brown's early romances, "Tiger Prince" is light read perfect for escaping the rut of everyday life. Derek is a perfect hero, and Caren is a charming heroine. The storyline is so romantic, the love scenes so steamy and sensual, that the book is impossible to put down. This is one of those books that cheer you up when life is difficult.

3.0 out of 5 stars She has written better!
I am a big fan of Sandra Brown. In fact the last book i have read by her was 'Envy' , by which i was so impressed that i had to read all her books, but somehow this one didn't live upto my expectations. Don't get me wrong. This was a good romance if that is all you are looking for... There was a depth to the characters, sexual tension was there, there were...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Perfect Romance, August 24, 2000
The story of Derek and Caren is both sweet and touching and hot and steamy. The character of Derek is the perfect man, he is charming (when he chooses), handsome, sexy, intelligent, rich, cultured, and, oh, yeah, he's the Tiger Prince. But somehow you think that a man like him might actually exist!

This is a typical romance, steamy, simple and quick to read, but is still so memorable and will be able to hold your interest and fantasies throughout.

A definate buy!

4.0 out of 5 stars standard Sandra B 101, October 26, 2005
By
SR (San jose, us) - See all my reviews
This book incorporates all the standard elements from the Sandra Brown School of Romance:

Hot, steamy scenes......CHECK.

Flowery, verbose descriptions of love scenes ["portals of her womanhood"; "petals of her femininity"; "throbbing bulge of his manhood" ..you get it]......CHECK

A "plot" that will allow the heroine to engage in over-the-top sex with the hero but still wonder if he loves her back as he remains strangely tongue-tied in this department, thereby allowing the book to drag on to 200 pages.......CHECK

and of course, the standard Sandra obsession with illicit, forbidden love/sex...here the hero's mother continues to romance her ex-husband (a sheik no less!) who has his own family in Riyadh.

The result is a standard, time tested formulaic and inane drivel that is a very light and enjoyable read. Perfect as a beach or end-of-the day read. I can see myself reading it again in a couple of years. I for one, love her love her older romance books. They are so light and mindless that they are great fun. Isnt that what we really look for in a romance novel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Now that's what I call a dream vacation!, April 4, 2003
By

Who wouldn't like to go to Jamaica for a "get away from it all" vacation, meet a handsome man that wants to "wine & dine" you-- to find out later that he is actually the prince of a foriegn nation and has stars in his eyes for YOU! But there are complications-you work for the goverment and are accused of sharing priviledge information during your romance. What can happen next? Good story (a little slow right at first)- one of those books that is a quick read, great pick-me upper. Good little romance novel.

I am a big fan of Sandra Brown. In fact the last book i have read by her was 'Envy' , by which i was so impressed that i had to read all her books, but somehow this one didn't live upto my expectations. Don't get me wrong. This was a good romance if that is all you are looking for... There was a depth to the characters, sexual tension was there, there were misunderstandings, insecurities, there was Gorgeous Philandering Hero and beautiful, shy but spirited heroine. In fact this was all a simple romance is supposed to be and that was the problem i had . It felt like i have read all this before, not this book but the story was just not... original, which i do agree not many romances are anyway but when you pick up Sandra Brown Novel you just expect something more than an average romance. Besides the engaging story you get witty and original dialogues, much more exciting sexual tension and hero you fall in love with but this one didn't do that for me.

Herione was also very confused. I didn't understand her need to keep her marriage free from any physical intimacy when she had already been intimate with her husband before marriage and she knew she had already fell in love with him and holding back nothing could make her pain for leaving him less. And then there was this matter of her running away from sticky situations. How could you like someone like that? i didn't

Her better romances are 'adam's fall','texas Sage','envy','bittersweet rain'.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pure escapist love story, October 17, 2005
Okay - so the plot is a little far-reaching and unrealistic. The hero is agressively over-confident, and the heroine frustratingly runs away from conflicts instead of confronting them with open communication. But who cares when the sensuality factor is sky-high! So is the beautifully descriptive writing. This is a book for getting lost in a romantic fantasy adventure in luscious settings such as a tropical Caribbean island and a horse-breeding plantation in Virginia. It's a magical feel-good romance.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Quite Your Prince in Shining Armor, May 28, 2001
By
Here you've got your basic sypnosis: guy meets girl, guy lies to girl, guy loses girl, guy gets girl back... Oh wait, there's more--the guy happens to be an exotic prince from a far-off land. Hmmm... Not exactly realistic, but what romances are? Hey, I'm not trying to be cynnical or anything, I'm just pointing out the parts that needed buffering. But overall, a good read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Book I Have Ever Read, April 11, 2000
Sandra Brown's "Tiger Prince" is an excellent book. I read about it first from your reviews. I thought that it sounded very interesting so I bought it. It really is a great read. I have read two other Sandra Brown books and loved them both. I have read "Love's Encore" and "Bittersweet Rain." They were both excellent but "Tiger Prince" is my all time favorite book now. Caren and Derek had more chemistry than any other two characters in any book. One scene that sticks out in my mind is the attic scene where Caren thanks him for her new studio. I loved this book because you can really tell that Sandra Brown really put her heart into this one. It is nothing like the other two of her books I have read. I recommend this book to anyone. A really great book!

5.0 out of 5 stars You'll Want to Read It Over Again, August 6, 2003
By

(REAL NAME)
"Tiger Prince," was the first book that I read by Sandra Brown and it made me a fan for life. She has such a mastery with words and scene development that she is able to make one feel as if they are right there with the characters.
From the hum-drum drudgery of her job in Washington, D.C. to the steamy, mysterious tropics of Jamaica, the reader is able to follow the heroine, Caren, through a romantic adventure that most women only dream of living out. The hero, Derek, contains the perfect blend of sensuality, strength, humor and vulnerabilty so that the reader will want to keep reading, even if it's just to get to know this dream-guy better.
Every page, every sentence, of this book is an adventure. I read it in one night because I couldn't put it down. For those of you out there with sophisticated tastes in romance novels, I VERY highly recommend this, or any other, Sandra Brown novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love it!, January 13, 2003
By
Caramelle (Savannah, Ga, USA) - See all my reviews
I remember, Tiger Prince was the first book I read by Sandra Brown and it had such an impression on me that from then I would blindly choose any book with Sandra Brown's name on it!! It is such a sensual, entertaining book, one that you just don't want to put down -even to use the bathroom! The exciting sensual plays woven into the words appealed to me greatly and what I liked best about it was that to this day, I can remember each scenario from the book vividly. Loved it!
